Best & Safe Way for Dealing with International Suppliers - Credit Cards & PayPal
Post 1 of 13
Hello & Greetings to all from India.

Allow me to introduce myself first. I am Gautam Khorana, Director of Bello Jewels Pvt Ltd and we are in the loose gemstones and gemstone silver & gold jewelry business.

I am writing this for all potential buyers/importers(of any category) who typically buy in the range of US $ 100 - 10000. Even if you purchase in excess of US $ 100,000-200,000++ this guide could be useful, so just read on.

I beleive the best way you can trust a person/supplier is if he/she offers PayPal or Credit Cards as payment option. I know PayPal can be difficult for suppliers sometimes, but trust me but Credit Cards can be offered by everyone from almost any corner of the world.

Why you may ask payments by paypal or credit cards are safe?

We'll you can ask for your money back from PayPal or Credit Card Company if the supplier/exporter cannot send proof of shipping. Generally you cannot transact very high amounts via paypal or credit cards and its not viable to the supplier as well because 3-5% commission is charged by either of the payment processors but to build confidence with any supplier its the best and I think the only way that transactions should be done. Once trust & faith is built up with a supplier after 2-3 dealings, you can then go ahead and deal by Bank Wire, Western Union, MoneyrGram, International Money Orders/Postal Orders etc.

Feel free to message or reply in case of any doubts or queries. I will try to reply back as soon  as I can.

I wish you all the Very Best

Hello, You just need a MERCHANT ACCOUNT with any credit card processing company or just go ahead and open a accout with paypal. You DONT need a website. Your buyers can easily pay by Credit Card safely then via your Merchant Account. Just Google the word "Merchant Account" and you will find many.

Which site have you opened a merchant account that has been tried and tested? Which have the lowest interests?

Google Checkout and 2CO are the best but interest rates are high, around 5%

But it should not matter if the amount of order is less and you need to give confidence to buyer for trust before the buyer makes a Bank Wire.

Otherwise PayPal is also there with interest of around 3% but I use 2CO more often.

Dear Sir:  My name is Dannie Armstrong. I deal in all kinds of leather and steel goods made for horses, or "horse tack" I have been using Indian, and China suppliers for the last 4 years. While I have both Pay Pal, and a Credit card for business, I find very few suppliers that can get a pay pal account because of the U. S. bank requirement. I wish very much that more India and China companies would  step up and meet the requirements for a Pay Pal account, it would facilitate dealings in all areas.

                                          Thank you Dannie Armstrong

Hello Dannie

The requirement for withdrawal has been taken care of and Indian people can withdraw funds to their local bank account now. It was done several months ago. Unfortunately paypal keeps suspending people's account and thats why we dont like paypal too much but credit card processors are their in plenty. I guess that people here still dont have the techinical knowledge and dont want to bear the 5 % charge.

Anyways, wish you the best.

Hi

I thought Indonesia already had.

Anyways, you can still go for Credit Card Processors.

Trust me it makes buyers secure.
