Tobacco and Smoking Issue
Post 1 of 52
Tobacco has first been found in the Continent America as smoked by the Indians, and now invaded all over the world. Despite many campaigns against, it still goes on spreading.
Why do you think people smoke ?
How should it be treated to prevent its expansion ?

Replying to [Roland]: The only business that i ever did in Nigeria was with a company that also had an office in Canada. In a situation like that you just need to do regular due diligence. I did several deals with them. I have a cousin who worked a lot in Nigeria and he said that it was loaded with corruption. If anybody from Nigeria sends you an e-mail offering you $9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999, don't start planning to spend it. In answer to your other question, the company I work for trades in branded medical supplies.

Smoking is bad. period.
Sorry Iul/Parts..... smokers have the right to smoke ....as soon as it stops affecting other peoples health. Which really really sucks since I am a smoker too!
I don't smoke in the house EVER (which is a pain in the butt in winter!) because I don't want my wife inhaling the crap. Don;t smoke in my wifes car ever......... won't smoke in my truck when she is in it.

Replying to [iulianap]: maybe these people who got sick worked with people who polluted their work place. Many people spend more waking time at work than at home.

Replying to [Julianap, Foow]: I'm a smoker and like you guy, I only smoke when I'm outside of my home or work place, I don't smoke when non smoker is around me. However, thing that really * me off is those that not smoking did not have any consideration for the people privacy. Why do they pick on us??? If they really want then pick on the goverment that still allow the industry to make tobaco product. Not the smoker. Goverment still are love to tax the * out of the smoker. They never going to outlaw its. Look at the revenue that they colllect on one single industrial (1000% tax on each cigarette is make) For the non-smoker go pick on the goverment that allow the industry to make the product.

Dear Partsman,
First of all, calm down otherwise you will lite another one. This is not an anti-smoking campaign.Outside this forum there are a lot of anti-smoking campaings all over the world. Besides nobodys wants to ban you smoking. Surely as anybody, you also have the rights to smoke untill you decide to give it up with your own will or the doctors ban.
The goverments can not ban smoking completely. They only can limit the place where tobaco can be smoked as in the present situation in most countreis. Because banning smoking completely invites the smuggling and they don't want to loose such a huge source of income which floods in, even before the end of fiscal year.
Meanwhile we should also keep in mind that a huge number of people earn their bread and butter on tobaco, some growing, some trading and processing, some manufacturing and distributing, selling or working as labour for the tobaco. Those people mean votes in the elections for the politicians. So the governments put very high taxes on tobaco products just to limit the expansion of tobaco legally.
Air pollution is another fact and objections to that problem are also in the agenda and manufacturers are forced to take precautionary steps against the pollutions they cause in most countries.
If you are a happy with the tobaco and smoke in such a way that it harms only you,no matter that's your choice. But here in this forum, I only thought of that the experiences of ex-smokers will be useful for the unvilling smokers how to stop it. Surely happy smokers may go on..
Best Regards
