Tobacco and Smoking Issue
Post 1 of 52

Tobacco has first been found in the Continent America as smoked by the Indians, and now invaded all over the world. Despite many campaigns against, it still goes on spreading.

Why do you think people smoke ?
How should it be treated to prevent its expansion ?

    Replying to [KILOIA]:

    Dear KILOIA,

I don't think smoking gives any relaxation to somebody when he smokes while in tensions. It only keeps him busy and helps to forget the reason(s) that frustrates him, for a few minutes. On the contrary it is a reason of frustration for a tobaco-addicted person when he doesn't smoke yet, at least most of the smokers say so.

In China, I think male smokers are many many more than female smokers. It is very rare to see a woman smoking outside as they are not appreciated in a good manner by the people in the society according to Chinese traditions. Sure I am not of the count of the women who smoke at their homes.

It effects the children more badly than the adults and the chilren are the future for all the nations on this planet.

Replying to [sixer]: Cannabis is not tobacco. Lots of people like that also but that is another story. India did not have tobacco before it came from America nor did India or anybody else in the old world, have chilies, potatoes, coca, or tomatoes.

Campigns against tobaco and smoking all over the world take place constantly on media, on conferences and on various occasions. The more important and effective way thought untill now to me is that by some countries including Turkey and Canada, the manufacturers are put under obligation to write some main problems smoking causes on the packs as warnings such as "Smoking Kills" "Smoking Causes Lungs Cancer" "Smoking Causes Impotency" "Smoking Causes Premature and Underweight Birhts" and so on.

As further steps in Turkey now smoking is banned in public places such as restaurants, cinemas, state offices, banks etc.,and while driving.

Your quote is quite a good sample which also should be written on the packs "Kissing a Smoker is Just Like Licking an Ashtray"

    Dear Tonyispection,

That is also thought and in China and India there are cigarettes for smokers produced without using tobaco and smoked as tobaco. They proclaim that they have no bad effects as tobaco, give the smoking taste and satisfy the smoking needs of people.

I wish they can superceed the tobaco cigattes.

    Dear Deepali,

I completely agree with you on that smokers find too many reasons for not to give smoking up untill the doctors ban severely and completely.

Perhaps it will be useful to share the experiences with smoking of those forum mebers who are now ex-smokers, such as when, why and how they managed to give it up. and how they feel after stopping smoking.

    Dear Sixer,

You seem to be unvolunteer smoker as always the case is with all the other smokers. I hope some ex-smoker forum members,if any, will share their stories about how they could have escaped from the tobaco.

I think if some stories come up, all the unvolunteer smokers can benefit of it.

Replying to [All]:[em5][em6][em8]So far in this post, I have see no Smoker stand up and defend ourself. Yes, it a bad habit and bad for people health, we Smoker all knowing that and willing to continue smoking. (Why????)
The real question is: Why did the goverments of this planet completely ban smoking and outlaw it like the dangerous drug????

Look at how much extra taxes that a smoker have to pay to be able to do what they like to do. We pay more taxes than anyone else on this plannet, yet we get pick on every single day by most of you people. Where is our right????

Health issue??? Now day you get more poison by breathing air (poluted by all the industies). No body really cry about it. You can get sick from almost anything now day. So what is the real issue?? or this just another band wagon to pick on some one that can not defend themself???
More people get kill by car accidents than smoking, yet no one want to do some thing about it.

This is about the most boring subjet, that anyone can bring up.
If you are really want to anti-smoking then by all mean do so at the goverment level, lobby then to outlaw smoking. Until the day that they outlaw it there will be more people become smoker than poeple quit smoking. (and I can bet my bottom dollar on this that the goverments will not outlaw it. There are no other product that the goverment can put ont a 1000% tax and the consumer will not cry about) nor the people that not use the product will cry for unfairness taxes) Try to do that to any other products and everyone will cry the blue.

SO, WHO GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO PICK ON OTHER PEOPLE!!!! THAT DO THING BY THEIR OWN CHOISE???.[em6][em6][em6]

Replying to [partsman]: Every time you smoke in such a way that another person has to breath your stinking poison you are hurting their health. Don't cry about being picked on. You are not the victim of the non smokers. You are making them victims.
