The first thing you need to figure out is what product(s)/ Service(s) you wish to be dealing in. Until you make this decision you really can't do anything else.

Find a market to fill before you do anything else. Not much point if you get into something and THEN try to figure out if there is a market.

Not sure what kind of venture....?

Bring your samples, walk, and talk to the people related to the venture. If you are in the food business, talk to the restaurants or grocery ppl. If you are in ABC business talk to the ABC suppliers, sellers, buyers etc.

Do your own survey. Get a pen make a simple survey form. Go downtown, distribute FREE samples and survey.

Feel the market first.

a small Yes if you are rich enough to engage it. a big No, because hand-on experience is better than letting someone doing it for you.

Replying to [Kirk007]:First of all one has to make a detailed study of the venture from what ever sources available before embarking on the new venture. One should carefully analyse the inputs required, legal and finacial implications, marketing skills and above all how to get and retain customers

Replying to [Kirk007]:Look at what the market wants ??how long will the market want it?? Can you get what the market wants?? Can you sell enough to make money and live each month???
Do A 5 year Business plan , List every thing good and bad ,, analize it and do again just to be sure.
Now test it - Test the market .. Test the supplier -- Then ask your self will it work -- will I like doing this .. be 101% sure-- Then Get an independant to look at what you have ,,,
Always keep in your mind that market trends can change over night..
Can You Change with them ??

Got all that ??

, Now Test IT ., Good Luck [em15]
