I have an idea, which may help people to verify the scammers and real business people. As we all know that scammers always claim they earn millions of dollars annually, and most successful companies have webcams for computer (for communication). well what i propose is while you are having a good chat with the scammers, why not ask them to turn on their web cam for a better communication(it also helps innocent buyers to identify whether the person they talking to are legitimate).

i wont be surprise if they say: "we can't use a camera, or we don't have a camera?"

You can always argue by saying:" we are the customers, and if we are to do business, I need to know who i am dealing with, since this involves the internet where scams usually occur, identification is of most important especially when buying something".

I wont be surprise if they say things like:" we are gold certified members, trustpass, You can trust us." (all those are ****)

so all you have to say is: well if you are not willing to use webcam as a modern way of communicating, then just forget about doing business ( i mean a webcam doesn't cost much, no excuse for them to lie)".

well that is all my advice about how to verify a scammer, just note this, You are the customer, and customers are always right. Dont let the scammers over power you.[em2][em18]

The problem is that some scammers have their own Office, camera and all the fake official documents and it's hard for you to tell a professional scammer without checking out  their Business License or Export License with local officials in China !

Well using the web cam is to start things off, but dont put 100% trust, because it is an online activity, therefore it is recommended for buyers to hire an agent for maximum security. hope this answers your question.

Useful but not effective. So you know what they look like so what?

Best thing to do is take a trip and visit them.  Remember real suppliers are just as worried about get scammed as buyers are. Unless i need to show custom made products to my client i would not bother to open a webcam session with an unknown buyer.

I my opinion i have quality products at more than competitive prices. If you don't want it there are plenty of others. Who are willing to come and visit and understand everything. I would not put must hope in a customer who is not will to fork out the price of an air ticket as being a long term stable client.

In our business it's all about long term. There is no money to be made on a 1 or 2 deals. We train our clients and offer them advice to help them become successful and the by-product of their success is us also being successful.

Well it may not be very very effective, but I would rather see how they operate and study their personality. It is better than communicating without knowing the appearance of the person. they say a picture can tell a million stories, well a live webcam will be more than that.

My method will only provide 70% boost of confidence, the rest is up to the buyers. they can hire an agent, or what ever method that will provide them 110% security.

O yes for buyers, who relies on websites to purchase goods, and that website accepts credit cards, be wary of the pad lock pic on the url bar, if you see it, it is rather secure, if not , well you know the answer. The answer is just run away from it.

The company who is "scamming me" has sent me at least eight orders over 1000 over the past 18 months. They have a legitimate web site with hundreds of photographs of the merchandise they sell. WWW.youngsoffer.com. They have sent me spread sheets showing the exact goods they are sending me and in the past I did receive the goods. I always pay them the extra money to ship the goods UPS. I have had trouble with other shipping companies. I had money stolen by another Chinese Company before doing business with Youngsoffer.com and Jian Chen.Suddenly he is not answering my emails and will not return the money. I am surprised by this since I have been a very relaibale past customer. How can I get the Chinese Foreign Trade to the USA involved in this?

hmmmm, well last time i checked for your site and it was considered forbidden, but since you are an american citizen why not contact the FBI, since it is there job to protect the american citizens, well contatc them if you loss big money not small amount like hundreds of dollars. I don't think you can really do much by reporting to chinese officials about this scam. there is not much that we can really do except use this problem as a lesson. sad to hear that you got betrayed, well money does ruin relationships. that is all i have to say.

HI, Echa106 I agree with you 100% I just recently made an order for the Ipod Touch Screen and I made the payments this past Saturday and today is Tuesday and before I made the payments the supplier seemed in a hurry and now that the supplier has my payments since Monday morning I was told that I would have the tracking # by afternoon and then Tuesday morning I received an E-mail stating that the product was about to be shipped when a slight defect was found, they will ship another product today, I am trading with China.  I paid by Money Transfer.  I know that was kind of stupid, so now I am sitting on my hands hopeing that this supplier is honest and will follow up on our [em3] sale arrangement.Quoting from [echa106]:

Often times simply asking the supplier to contact you by telephone to discuss final details of the transaction will do the trick.  This will even scare away the nost savyest of scammers!!!

i HAVE JUST BEEN SCAMMED BY FRANBOL TRADING AND INVOLVING NIGERIAN PRISON SERVICES.

THE BEST WAY NOT TO BE SCAMMED IS NOT TO SEND THE MONEY FOR ANY PURPOSES OR REGISTRATION UNLESS YOU HAVE SEEN THE BUYER.

IF YOU ARE A SELLER, MAKE SURE THAT YOU LET THE AGENT OR YOUR PROSPECTIVE BUYER PAY FOR EVERYTHING AND JUST REFUND HIM WHEN THE PAYMENT IS RECEIVED BY YOU.

NEVER TRUST YOUR AGENT UNLESS YOU KNOW THE PERSON PERSONALLY.

SINCE HUGE TRANSACTIONS MEANS HUGE SALES, DO NOT TRUST YOUR AGENT TO DO THE TRANSACTIONS JUST ON LINE.  INSTEAD GO TO THE PLACE YOURSELF AND SIGN THE CONTRACT YOURSELF BECAUSE THE NIGERIANS WILL TELL YOU THAT THE LAWYER IS GOOD ENOUGH BUT THEY WILL CHARGE YOU HIGH ROCKETING FEES AND DISAPPEARS AFTER THE TRANSACTION IS COMPLETED.

EXPERIENCE IS THE BEST TEACHER THOUGH PAINFUL IT MAY BE.  IT CAN BE EQUATED TO PAYING FOR A TUITION FEE TO LEARN THE TRICKS OF THE TRADE
