I am looking at products from an Indonesian supplier who seem legitimate. KENTOT ENAK I have asked for alternative payment methods, I am in the UK but they can only offer, western union, which i am definitely not using, and T/T which although is the most common method of payment is not safe for a buyer as they have no control. Is there any way to have a T/T transaction made secure and safe, or should I opt to not deal with them at all if T/T is the only option open to me.
Many thanks in advance.
Definitely,it is so popular for many supplier would choose the TT for the payment of small amout.
Also pay by western union is a effective way for money transference which is so similar to the TT,but even more convinient.
I use western union some times, for it will charge little for the service of money transfered than TT,so my customer glad to take that.
It seems as if you are make sure the legitimate of your supplier,so both kind will be OK if you prefer.good luch.

I won't even speak to payment method for one simple reason. This business and any business in Indonesia that claims that they are suppliers of Segway products is a hoax. There is not a single distributor in all of Indonesia of this brand. http://www.segway.com/

Are you sure? There seem to be many potential suppliers from there, and china. Are you saying all of these companies are scammers??
You can only buy foreign brand name product from the company that owns that product and their licenced resellers.
If you have not purchased the distribution rights to the product from the brand name company then you have no legal right nor legal access to the manufacturing base even if those manufacturers happen to be in Asia. So even if you found the actual legitimate factory that is making the real product for the brand name company and knocked on their door with cash in hand they would not sell to you. You have to buy from the brand name company and their agents and that is how they make their money!!
This is why as Ranger points out there are no legit suppliers of this product in that area.
That aside whether you choose TT payment or not is not how you secure your purchase. You secure your purchase through due diligence which should include a pre-shipment inspection BEFORE you release final payment to ensure that the product you are expecting is the product that they deliver.

Thanks for that Egernia, I appreciate your information. I can understand the principles of major manufactures and distribution rights, I had considered that these products may have been a variation on the principle. However, that said, I agree they sail mighty close to the wind on their claims and projections to the original. One particular distributor claimed they had a legitimate source from Japan, which is dubious. Is it the plain fact then that the many companies offering similar service are all scammers? if so, why doesn't Alibaba take action to remove such blatant miscreants.
