Yes too vague of question, but many wool items duty are in the 17% or higher range. I would contact that person as he is willing to help for free.

You can actually help yourself using the The US Harmonized Tariff Schedule 2008 published online. For knitted articles of apparel and clothing,http://hotdocs.usitc.gov/docs/tata/hts/bychapter/0802c61.pdf
For me consulting DHL or FEDEX is much faster and usually reliable as they service a lot of exporters of similar products that you are dealing in.
