Although International Trade Agents have the potential to earn high commissions, the competition is becoming increasingly intense. What makes you stand out from your competitors? How do you build trust with potential clients? What advice would you offer to agents making a start in international trade?

Life of a Trading Agent in India is the same as the life of any other trading agent in the world.

For your kind information, International Trade Agents do not earn 'High Commissions', they earn a moderate commission.[em1]

Dear Carol,

Yes it is totally correct that now-a-days the competition is totally intense.Irrespective of any country everywhere all the agents are struggling very hard to achieve their targets.See the main goal of the agent is to satisfy his client as well as his supplier. He is the middle-man.So he needs to be impartial and work hand-in-hand with both of them.He needs to be sincere, honest and dedicated to his work. This will surely gain him more reputation.Actually you see in India if you hire an agent the work becomes totally simplified. Its true that you need to pay him some bugs, but he gets the work done smoothly and quickly. For e.g.If you want to apply for an visa to the consulate,I would suggest you to take help of an agent to do this work. You are sure to get the visa in the very first attempt. So agents play an vital role in the international as local trade business.

Thanks and Best Regards,

R.C.Sukhtankar

The competition is so high in international trade and sometimes you may not get a deal for years. In India local sourcing is very limited unlike China because the manufacturers trade directly using their English knowledge. Very few opportunities are available for other sourcing where in we have 100 people for every one opportunity. I would like to advise the budding agents to study their area of activity deeply, look for every single opportunity carefully and try to work where you can earn some money ASAP to sustain yourself for long term goals.

Today the world market is like this that the compitition forces the agent to keep the commission on minimum else the prices will not be compititve.

Nowadays in most walks of life (where money is concerned) there is so much competition - it is nearly stifling. More and more people push into the workforce (and some very talented and qualified), more and more companies push into the market (and some offer very good products and services). I wonder how long we cans sustain this rat race?

Just my two cents.

Life of an agent is not easy. Buyers and seller both prefer to work directly and earn more profits. Believe it ! it's true. [em20]

yes,now the competition is becoming more and more intense,ot only the international trade agents, but also all of other Professions.Nowadays, buyers want to do the business with the manufacturers directly.so as a agent, you should find the best and the most reliable co-worker for the buyer or seller with the shortest time. This is the key which wins in the competition.
