Which kind of products you have inquired.
I do not think your messgae have gone into spam box because since now,I have not found any inquiries went into my spam box, besides that, many spam went into my inbox.I think the problem may caused by the products your inquired, maybe that kind of products were not made by them so suppliers would not like to waste time on it.This is the most possible reason.
I have also met the same problem with you, maybe you have fond the wrong suppliers, I think.

I don't think it goes into the junk mail, in my point view, you sent a rough inquiry, just like you didn't mention about the size, items, quantities etc. In this case, the supplier will think you are survey the price not going to buy, so they don't like to waste time on you.
I agree that, generally speaking,i will reply all of the inquiry ASAP except some inquiry is unrelevent to our products,so i omit them. I am puzzle some time, why more and more customer who send me inquiry and ask for unreasonale products.we don't produce that,so i can't reply for i really don't want to lose my time.Even i reply, and clear everything, then i will get no reply instead.
so my suggestion is that see their products on the web clearly before you send any inquiry.

Hi,
This a double edge sword here.
Buyer don't trust suppliers. What many don't realize is that suppliers are at risk from scams as well. A real supplier stands to lose more than a buyer at times.
Introduce what you are looking for in details. Use a paid email account. Introduce yourself and your company. Be professional. Real supplier only reply to what they envisage as a real buyer.
In the same way you wish a supplier to treat you, is the way you should post your enquiries.
If your enquiry is as bad as your posting ...of course no one will answer. I wouldn't reply to you if you message was this simple. A real supplier would require more details, a scammer would reply to anything and they would say they can help you without even knowing who you are or what you do. At time not even knowing the product you are looking for or what quality you expect.
A real supplier would ask you lots of question to gauge the possibly and to see if they can meet your requirement.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Remus

marcus_steve I think this is common and you probably do that also when you receive a generic inquiry. Your inquiry should be targeted and specific enough to attract the interest of a seller. Make sure you first identify and segment your potential suppliers and target these suppliers with specific and personal information and not just a message that is broad and general in nature. Identifying the right supplier requires research and could be time consuming.

Thanks for the help guys. I gonna do an inquiry which isn't too long but also ask specific questions regarding price and quantity. I'll try and send it to around 20 suppliers and if I do not recieve any replies I think its best I leave alibaba.
This is the best B2B site on the internet but if I cannot recieve replies its best I not waste anymore time here.
Sometimes it helps to re-send the enquiry up to 3 times - there may be a genuine reason
for the non-reply.
I have experienced the same thing on occassion. A quick follow-up phone call to the
supplier usually does the trick (in the event 2 or 3 emails are unanswered). Yes, it is
unprofessional of them not to reply you , but sometimes circumstances can't be helped.
It's we who need the product and the prices, so one just has to persist.
