Dear SS,

Thanks for your kind reminder and the good education to our young and old people as well. I deeply believe that we all treasure the relationship and the deepest and dearest love with our parents and sisters, brothers even our relatives and friends, and eventually extend these to all the people surrounding us, no matter the guys are just passing....

Firstly, we need to learn how to take care our old parents, deel what they feel, think what they are thinking, understanding what they are worrying and put less stress to them is we can....so far something you think good and feel right together with your experiences and our parents teaching and share their experiences to us, so we will not let our parents disappoint.

I am gald and also very sad that if you still have the chance to stay with your dearest, do not work and work without taking good care of them  and arrange your time to stay with your family and them. Life is short but painful if you miss the opportunity ,surely you will regret like me now. Why, I always recall that when my father was still alive, I was always thinking there were enough time which would wait me, so I worked almost no stop. Till the day came , I was unable to stay with my father in the last second....my Father left me forever.

NOW, I fully understand the Chinese sayings:while the tree wants to rest, but the wind never stops. When we want to feed and stay with our parents, they are no more in this world!![em8][em8][em8][em8][em8][em8][em8]

Believe me, time is really so short, working and life can be arranged very well . Treasure what you have and do not wait till the moment you lose your parents..one day that comes ..might be soon without warning.

For A Time Has Easier Running out without waiting you.

[em8][em9][em7]  Thanks SS for your hearty education and remind.....my good teacher!!

Happy Father's Day to all.

You are both so right about spending time with our fathers. However, sometimes fathers do not understand how special time spent with their children actually is.

I remember a story about a boy whose father never spent any time with him. Finally, a day came when the father said he would take his son fishing. It was the only time the father ever spent an entire day with his son. The little boy was so happy about this day spent with his father. They even caught two fish. It was a joyful time for the son.

The son grew up. The father grew old and died. The son had the responsibility for going through his father's belongings after his death. He found his father's journals where he wrote about his days, his business dealings, and all other things in his life.

The son looked through the journals until he found the date that they went fishing. He wanted to read what his father had written about that wonderful day spent fishing.  Finally, he found that journal entry. Here is what his father wrote about that day:

Spent the entire day fishing with my son. This was such a wasted day.

The son began to cry and closed the book.

I need to remember to always cherish the time spent with my son. I always try to be a better father.

Thank you Street Smart and Leosun for your posts and reminders about Fathers.

Sincerely,

Brian Humek

Thank you Brian and Leo for your sharing.

Are there no other people with their father's to share?

Many people love their mothers more, and have little thoughts about their fathers. Because they were spending most of their time with the mother, in the home, and fathers had to go and earn a living to provide for the family.

When you see a married woman with jewelleries, nice dresses and perfume, you see a faithful husband, who buys her all these. Truth is, there is very little appreciation, and most people see the fault in their fathers rather than the good.

Somehow, it mirrors on us, when we were kids, we used to be proud of our fathers, during the pre-teen years, then we learned to read and write, we saw the dark side of our parents, and harboured the hurts and pains of the family lifestyle.

Then we judge our fathers after the teenage period, and we began our own journey through life, as if it is perfect, obey the rules: no gambling, drinking, smoking, womanising, and be religiously pious and faithful to the wife and love the children. Somehow, somewhere along the line, we cannot fulfill this pledge, and become frustrated, things don't work out the way we expect, and changes we cannot handle. the children grew up, into adolescents and they began to form their opinions, exerting their rights, and become sexually aware of themselves. They rebel against the rules and system set up by the parents, and wanted freedom, some jumped into marriage, some run away from home, get into drugs, or sexual immorality.

Then you realise it is too late, should you have spent more time with the children, they might not have strayed from the social norms. They should be graduating from the Universities, and getting well paid jobs.
