Glitches in the new system
Post 1 of 2

The upgraded presentation looks great. But I do see several glitches. Through this forum I request Alibaba to attend to it. I'll just point out a few as indicators:

  1. When I try to Italicise a word, it appears as bold.
  2. Even after I have replied to a question, the name in the main forum listing appears as that of the earlier person who has originally asked the question; it does not show my name or the last date of my posting. This makes the forum listing  very misleading. Often I have gone back to the question only to find that I have already responded to that!
  3. Is there really any need to repeat and quote the whole of the text of the original question? Doesn't it take up a lot of space? A simple "Reply to [name]" (may be, with date of the question added) would have been enough to serve as approrpiate cross-reference (it used to be so, earlier).
  4. When a question is quoted it takes up my space. The limit of 4,000 characters kick in when I want to answer in full. Several times I had to cut my answers to stay within the limit of 4,000 characters. Most often, that's OK . But, can the warning sign also show the actual size of my reply OR show by how many characters I have exceeded my quota of 4,000 characters? Trimming would be much easier then.
  5. Nowadays, even after answering a post, when I click to go back to the question that I have answered, I do not see my response posted there (unless I click on the 'refresh' button). This never happened earlier.

If other memebers have similar problems or suggestions, it may help all if they also add to this list.
