Have you had previous contact with this company?

It would seem unlikely that any legitimate customer would consider placing a test order if they had not received prices or samples from you before. Especially an order of this size.

I would tell the buyer that you would like to work with them but need more information about their company and their buying plans etc. If they are a legitimate company they will have no trouble taking the time to work with you on this.

I am pretty sure however that it is a scammer and that they will disappear or try to put undue pressure on you to act quickly. If so my advice is to walk away.

Sounds strange, if they really want just the letter from you, they could first ask aout prodcuts and later ask for letter as they want to come to visit you, why run around the houses.

When you get communication with volume orders without them knowing your quality or company this is not normal, as a buyer i would not send money first then go to the factory, MMMmm that is mad.

Tell them sure we can give you a letter, that is not a problem, when we get your deposit we can send you the letter direct, as they have said this in their reply to you, pay money then letter, so see what respose you get.

Fact is to talk about volume and letter from you and visit before they even know the CIF cost is not right, and so many scams from that part of the country.

1000% fake fake fake

They always ask for CIF price. They never ask for sample and have never seen your product.

They most likely never asked about quality, leadtime and the anything question where you need to negotiate anything serious that will give you any problem.

They usually seem very agreable with your terms.

If you search their company they are buying all kinds of product and it will always be in large quantity.

They will always reply to you very quickly.

Some may even claim to be buying/representing some government agency or board, most likely under the mandate of the West Africa

They may even try to send you a contract..only a few pages....if you have experience dealing with any government department you will know a governemtn contract is very very long...minimum 20pages.

If you stop replying to then they will email you and ask you to hurry and reply.

Your contact person is probably Hadj Saleem Ahmed.

Sounds familiar?

Trust your business sense..if it sounds too good to be true..it's a scam

Obviously, this is a scam.  If this guy is a genuinue buyer and has a substantial order in hand, he or she can apply the proper visas to visit your country.  Do not believe in his promises.

Of course, this is fake. You are lucky that they only asked you for invitation letter. Most often, they would ask about your account information. Thanks to Alibaba that this is not eBay :-)

We had a fake message from another country. They expected us to meet them in the airport. Their first time visit to our country, we never talked before, and here they are asking immediately if we can meet them at the airport, then they would come our factory for a visit.
Yeah, right? Fake messages are fun. It develops your creativity to the extend where these "people" literally invests their time to do this. Well, here we are investing our precious minutes to help you with this fraud letter and earning MVPs at the same time. As Americans say, you scratch my back, I scratch your back.
