I want to import some cell phone cases into USA, about a $1500.00 order.
They said dhl is what most customers use.

What I need to know is how it works? what should I look out for? Will I have a problem with customs? Do I need licence?
Any info please Im a newbie. I dont know anything. Thank you

Check them out first!!! Here's a list of questions you should ask before you do any business!!! These questions have saved me money!

1. Do you have any companies in the US that you have done business with in the last 12 months? If so may we contact them to verify your business dealings with them, I need at least 3 references with the name of the company, name of the contact person and phone number.

2. What is your business registration number?

3. Only deal in L/C or escrow.com for big orders and paypal or escrow.com for samples.

References are VERY important!!! Make sure you call or write them and get a reply back!! If you can't get in contact with them than than ask for references that you can get in contact with!! Untill you can get these terms agreed to I would not suggest doing any business with any people on here!!

Watch out! You can use airmail which would take bearely a week or so. DHL means that you have to pay in advance and this will cost a lot of money. Is it worth spending US$10 to receive an item worth US$2???? Visit DHL office and find out how much they charge. You will be shocked!! Good luck

Every month, I will send about 20kg of PSP, iPOD and Mobile phone cases to Japan. But I use FedEx because FedEx cost for me is very cheape; I can get a discount by 45%. At the first, Japanese buyers prefer freight collect. After comparing with FedEx cost in Japan, they prefer repaying; the cost at freight collect in Japan is 3 times higher than prepayment in China. For Customs Clearance, do not worry; I just give a call to FedEx office and they will check. In two days at most, I will get all details.
Not every company can get such discount. FedEx will offer you the discount according to the record that you deal with them. For my impression, their service is very good.
