Some have said that it would be India. Please let me know as I embark upon a business relations with a china company

Dalian
Tianjian/
Qingdao
Shanghai
NingBo
Xiamen
Shenzhen
HongKong.
Of them,Bigger:Shanghai Ningbo Xiamen,Shenzhen Hongkong.

It very much Depends on location in China : e.g. :
Vancouver Canada is not a great port for East Coast Canada shipments. The same rule applies to China... Shanghai is great for North, but not so great for Southern China factories. Find out closest Port to Factory or China-Warehousing location.

Different ports in China have different strictness in its import and export controls so you need to decide based on that - As well, you have to think about the cost of in-land transportation as this can get quite high.
