Americans are now paying just under $2 a gallon at the pump, the highest price they've ever paid at this time of year. And energy analysts predict that the price will keep rising right through the spring, closing in on $2.15 a gallon even before the summer driving season.

In Malaysia we are paying USD0.61 per liter for petrol and we are condemming our govenment for paying too much if we compare to other oil producing country like Brunei and the middle east.

Our oil reserve is going to run out very soon, over the last 30 years our government has spent the oil money unnecessary. If we have to pay the petrol price like what the European is paying i think our country will go bankrupt

It was highly subsidised by the Government, and many foreign cars took advantage of the  cheap fuel to top up their fuel tanks, just by driving over the causeway.

I'm from Malaysia and looks like we are one of the few that paying the lowest. Recently our government had increase the fuel price from RM1.92(USD 0.62) to RM2.70(USD0.87) and we are complaining like nobody business.

Seems that we really have to appreciate on the government subsidies...
