I am on Facebook and MySpace.  Facebook allows you to directly link to sell sites in some cases such as Ebay and can get you extra exposure. It depends on what you are marketing and how you are marketing as to whether it will be worth your time. Typically on both of these sites, you really need to already know someone to start building relationships, as it is just like any networking, where you have to have some kind of reference to introduce you if you want to start from a spot where there is already some trust built.


As far as MySpace, they have tightened their rules on marketing through their site. I have not spent much time trying to market there. You can add ads to your own website and blog there which will help to some degree with the search engines if you have a website to push. I would say that social networking is something that needs to be done on a long term basis anyway since you have to build trust and it is hard to start building trust from a cold introduction type of experience. No one is going to contact you randomly on either site unless they are looking for a romantic date or something and so many people send spam through MySpace that most people are probably not going to respond to personal messages and will possibly even report you as a spammer if you try to introduct yourself coldly to build relationships.


I have never used Sina or Bebo.

I use face book to promote my website there is an application builder tool you can download on facebook to create your own application (club) and then send the invitation to your friends to join the "club"..Im not sure but I think the application may be public and other people may come across it and join thus expanding your audience!!

p.s you have to be a member to login and you have to have friends on there too
