Someone mentioned elsewhere in this forum that I had rejected him from Trade Manager so let me explain so that he and others that I have also rejected can understand my decision.
First off it is not personal as I often don't know who you are, but you have your fellow country men to thank for the fact that I no longer accept Chinese members on TM.
The reason is.......abuse.
To my mind TM is for discussing business related matters, not for:
a. selling product;
b. promoting your company;
c. making friends;
d. practicing English;
e. abusing and stalking other users
I have encountered all of the above during my time here at alibaba and in almost every case it was at the hands of Chinese members hence my bias in this regard. Just because I am online does not mean that I have time for idle chats and I get a bit tired of offending people when pointing out to them that I am busy!
Of course I am fully aware that there are plenty of legitimate Chinese users out there but unfortunately I have been burned too many times before to accept any more Chinese users on TM.
The last straw for me was one Chinese user who asked me to admit him to my TM by sending me the subject line - Urgent Help Needed. Only to have him try and sell me some fake brand name product of some type or another. On questioning him he admitted that he uses that subject line as if he doesnt then people dont accept him on TM!!
Prior to that I have had one guy offer to hook me up with prostitutes in order to get a good business relationship going, one guy threaten me, and plenty of others who repeatedly sent requests for me to add them to TM after I had rejected their requests until I had no choice but to add them just so that I could block them.
So members from China, sorry to group you all in together, but please understand that it is the bad behavior of the ones that have come before you that have created this situation.
Comments and criticisms are welcome.
It is a shame that I need to drag this thread back up again. Personally I wish that it could just disappear to the bottom, however....
Just got another 'sales pitch' from a Chinese seller who is active here at the forums. The company is Zhejiang Symbol Gift. Co. Ltd., and the guys name is Bruce Jore. His username at the forum here is helen128229 if you want to contact him.
I have been rountinely turning down requests from Chinese members but in his request he mentions something about having some information that would be of interest to me. He has been active on the forums so I break my own rule and add him. My mistake!
The first thing he does is try to send me pictures of something. No comment about who he is or what he wants. He could have been sending a virus for all I knew! On questioning it turns out that the guy sells pens and wants to know if I want to buy them!!
So yet another Chinese member here breaking the rules for his own profit and in the meantime giving a bad name to other decent Chinese members. So Chinese members if you are angered by buyers not accepting you to Trade Manager then perhaps you need to let the Bruce's of this board know that what they are doing is giving all of you a bad name.
Bruce if you want to sell pens then at least have the decency to:
a. send your offers to buyers who are actually interested in buying pens. Take the time to research people BEFORE you contact them;
b. let the person know your intent clearly when you ask them to add you to TM e.g. "Specialty pens for sale - are you interested?"
c. Better yet, don't use TM for this at all but do what you should do and post a selling lead on the main site so that interested parties can contact you.
Egernia that is call punishment for “having your online TM turn on and at the same time be very active on the forum or be a moderator” I learn that long time ago, been there don that, but I would like to ad,
1. Political discussion/where to buy from
2. How to run the forum and what comment/member to delete/spam.![]()
and I do have other contries on my list
MbM you are right on all accounts!
I will try to stop grumbling about this and try it accept it as part of being present on the site.
I am sorry Sir,but your words really make me a little annoyed!
One person's action can never stand for all's!
What's more ,I 'm doubt if there are some business
have been well negotiated from directlty talk through
the Trade Manager?!
I do not wantto make any checking ,it's means nothing !
Just as some people here said :this is may due to different Culture!
Your behavior is really hard to accept.
I'm working for export dept, so usually i am bothered by people from logistic company. Its irritating, but normally i just set them aside. silence is the only way to handle them.
Your words are insulting to Chinese People. Even you gave me millions dollar order, i dont think i will consider to be your supplier.
You must understand chinese people are one whole unit, if you try to break them up, you will be turned down by all Chinese.

Guys you seem to be missing the points here. If you are really concerned about my comments and how you feel that they reflect on Chinese people as a whole then take a moment to read back through the thread and you will see why you are mistaken.
I have not at any stage suggested that all Chinese abuse the system. I have merely suggested that in my experience here the far majority of users who do abuse the system come from China. You may not like that fact but it does not make it wrong.
My post and decision is not anti-Chinese. My post and decision is anti-users who in my opinion are abusing the system. It just so happens that a high percentage of those users are Chinese, which is not really that surprising considering that the vast majority of suppliers on Alibaba are Chinese.
So move away from the race issue on this as this is not a race issue.
The issue here is that certain users abuse the system. The far majority of these abuses are carried out by Chinese users. The only way for a user such as myself to avoid these problems is simply to refuse Chinese users on the whole. That is logical.
If that angers you then I suggest that the solution to the problem is not getting angry with my response to the situation, but to direct that anger at people who abuse the system and create that situation in the first place.
Do you not agree?
As to the reference to shipping companies that contact you regularly well let me ask. Does your company ever use shipping companies in your business? If so then that is directed marketing which can be annoying but is understandable. If you were to get to many calls a day from people trying to sell product that you dont even buy then perhaps your attitude would change. Especially if all of those calls were coming from one group.

Thanks for your info Egernia, you know most of newbie in the foreign trade always do this thing, I also made this kind of mistakes in the early time, but soon realized that this way couldn't help me find my buyers, like what you mentioned is very important, the buyer due diligence before doing business with his parterner, the same go with suppliers when they find their buyers I think!
I seldom talk about biz here, just other things. I like this forum because I can learn many usefull things from here by you guys, like Germex, Egernia, Prof. Carl etc. BTW, I really miss my good friend &teacher Prof Carl very much, but now we out of contact![]()

Quoting from [germex]:I would say it's a cultural problem. I see that a lot here in Mexico. If you don't give them a list of your daily activities, they won't even consider the possibility that you might be just as busy as they are. And they'll even doubt the list...
From my relatively few contacts with Chinese people so far I would say that some of them are definitely very nice people, but hardly ever understand that we also have our occupations, our time limits and... a life!
Yeah, I agree with you Germex, That should be a cultural problem.
We often use our own thought to deal all problems base on our cultural, so we need to study the Attn's cultural then will make right decision and enjoy the business both sides.
In another hand, "rude and troublesome" guys will comes from anyplace , it is not patent for any country or any race. So don't make any extreme decision on things even if you will meet them manytimes by chance in period time.
That's my opinion.
