Karma is not a religion, but it is a phenomenon of action and consequences. The Christians have a Bible verse in Galatians chapter 6 verse 7, quote " De not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."

So as the Hindus, the Buddhists, Rama Krishnans and others, what ever you do will affect your present, future, and affected by your past. This is life philosophy, and has no morale law as many westerners mis-understood to be "SIN". There are good, bad and neutral karmas.

For example, if you want to be an Olympic champion to win a medal. You got to have a former Olympic coach and you have to practise, practise and practise. The words of advice to the American Idols top 4 candidates by the previous idol finalist, is this. As for the family, you got to love your spouse and children, and invest in them for their education and provide them the extra to help them to excel in their achievement in whatever they are doing. If you don't do these, sit around and hoping to achieve what your ambitions are, you will only be day-dreaming, and your dreams will only be a pie in the sky.

This is faith with works, like in this case: "The people in Sichuan Province are crying and moaning in the aftermath of an earthquake that is the biggest in their 100 years history. There are people who say they will pray for them and may God bless them, not doing anything else about it."

This, according to the Christian teaching is "faith without good works", and it is in James chapter 2 verse 4-7.

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed." but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action is dead.

So karma is the action, not just what you say you will do, but the action which many people in China, Hong Kong and all over the world take: to donate blood, to give their cash money to the International Red Cross, and recognised Organisations, not to individuals, who may be scams. ... that is good karma.

Nope, I do not believe in "Karma".

Imo, "Karma" is equivalent to "Luck" or some mysterious force that cannot be explained but it is a convenient explanation to a situation that will bring our miserable lives together.

"Karma" comes together with "choice", if you were to make a "bad choice", you get "karma". If you make a "good choice", you have good "karma".

But what define a "good choice" or a "bad choice"?

Will I get a bad "Karma" by killing a cow in India?

Also, if "karma" does exist, then we are all doomed!

Why?

Because we are all guilty of killing the mother Earth, polluting the air, driving our cars, killing and eating the sacred cows that Indians revered!

Moreover, we men tend to think about sex every 30 seconds (according to the many scientific studies) and that is a "no-no" to many religious sect. Which in other words, we should all have bad "karma". Maybe all Mormon should have "karma" since they are allowed to have several wives?

Or maybe all 80% of the Americans should have "karma" because they thought they should go to war in Iraq in 2003. Now look what happened to the Iraqi people!

Also, we should all have "karma" for just making money. In the world of business, we make money by been competitive, we cut jobs, we cut benefits, we bring down cost, we make use of third world countries low labor cost kids to work on cheap goods and sell in the developed world.

And we should all have "karma" for watching the news, the media..... it is because of our quench for dramatic news and dramas that causes media to cook up juciy news and became bias in their news reporting........

By the way, the late Pope John should be guilty of "karma" in Africa too because he disagreed with the concept of using a simple device called "condom" to prevent the spread of AIDS among the christians african.....

.....................*sigh*.............................

I will bet with you 1 bet.....

No matter how much "good things" I do in my life, one day I will still trip over a small rock and hurt my leg while walking...... Because this is life.

Part 1

Hello there,

First off many misunderstand the concept of Karma, actually it doesn't have to do much with religion itself, religion by itself abides by itself, and tries to explain it, thats all.

To explain karma would be pretty difficult to sum up the concept in one paragraph or even a whole book, since it has to do more with spritiual achievment rather then wisdom of life.

I will try to explain what karma actually stands for. According to pretty much all religions we humans are made by god according to his form and shape, now many misunderstand that as the human body, but in actuallity its the spirit talked about.

Please note that according to karma, we all under go the cycle of life, where according to our deeds we are reborn in many shapes and forms until we reach the Human stage, approx.8,4 million times from an bakteria to all insects to all animals to human. It is more or less like a journey, since a bakteria only tries to replicate itself, animals try to dominate, and humans try to rule and go beyond it, its all phases of life.

The meaning of all this is basically to see the true path, which doesn't lie in the constant rebirth and death of an individual, but to get out of that cycle. In order to get out of the cycle one needs to understand the 2 forms of Lifes one must improve to move forward.

The one form is the blood relation and material world, since we all are born in families, make friends through life, we have obligations to attend to, how and with what morals we face them is what we have to decide, since according to our actions we will have to face them again in the next life, if we do not solve them, or have it even worse if we do bad things, or we will have no worries,if all is done with finess and grace that everyone is satisfied.

The second and most important form is the spiritual and self improvement part, this is actually what all of us should be doing, if that was the case then there wouldn't be any greed, jealousy, lust, desires and anger, in which we all get lost, and because of them we are not able to free ourselfs from the first form of life. Now whoever achieves this stage, and improves to such a degree, that he see's the true path, it was once described by my grandfather who himself pretty much became a monk, that we all are only a part of the whole, and earth is only the test to sort out the good from bad, eventually we all are one, and that the body is nothing more then a shell, since we are all and yet none.

Once the person truly sees the path, he will not be reborn and will join the whole matter, call it god, or the supreme being.

Now if you believe in karma is all up to you, but if you sit down and think hard enough, then you should ask yourself, why is someone born handicapped, why do some people seem to have bad luck all the time, sometimes you feel like you know someone, yet you have never met them. At times you pass by some places that you happen to know from before, where you feel like you have dones this before, some times you just know what to do although you never ever encountered that problem before. At times you get emotional over something or some object that you must posses, maybe because you didn't get in the past life.

part 2

continued

One more thing you need to understand about karma, there are four world cycles as well, that keep repeating itself, the period of the truth, in which only the true and untamed souls live, in this time you will find 1 person every 10 km or so (don't remember exactly).

Then there is the period of commune, where people start to come together and try to build a civilisation. The third is the golden era where people make marvelous structures in worship of gods, gain wealth by understand their surounding, and conquer whatever is possible.

The fourth and final period is the Dark ages, in which we still live, basically its the time when people become corrupted, by the very thing they build, and created MONEY and Power is their prime objective, since people have forgotten who god is and what their true purpose in life is. we are to busy fighting that we forgot what harmony is.

I tried to explain as much as I could in as simple way I could, hopefully this will help to clearify some misconcepts, and if you look close enough you will see a lot of similarities in pretty much every religion.

Peace out people
