Yes Of course if the sample cost a lot, but small value sample we usually give it away for free and just require that the buyers pay the freight cost,  and this freigt cost can also be deducted from the future order.   Sometimes i also don't mind to send the free sample and also prepay the freight cost if the buyers are good.

But i've met many "buyers" required that  " Hello Sir, i need this product or that product, please send me samples, and never mention who should pay the freight cost". usually are not serious buyers.. cause there's a posibitity when you ask them for the freight cost. they will say : please forget my request, thanks"..

When we enter a new market through an agent, we share the costs. We pay for the samples but the receiving agent pays for the sending.

I think the problem here is that most companies these days try to eat their cake and have it. They want to expand but at other peoples expense.
It is not only wrong, but very unethical for companies to be asking agents to pay for samples or bear the cost of shipment, the truth is that such companies never grow, because even the agents will soon see themselve as another customer without a stake in the business rather than someone who is helping it grow.
Lets not be penny wise and pound foolish, there are a lot of busineses that would have been ten times bigger than they are right now if only they were free with things like this. an agent is someone the company is trusting to represent them far away, you must show it as a company and I dont think free samples are too big for that.
All that i advise in this circumstance is to be careful, of course there are surfers in the net that are just looking out for something free, but I think for a company to start considering someone as their agent, a level of trust and familiarity should have been built.

Yes, i  think  the  charge  deponds on  the  sample value , if  your  samples  not  high  price ,then  you  can   send  to  him,may be  that  can  expand  the  market.

Most  importantly  ,i   think   that  if   the  buyer  is   a   true  buyer, he  will  paied the  charge ,you  can  communication with  him.

Like   now  i have  a  client  from  Pakistan,he  want to  see our  samples ,then he  paid the charge .

So the trust  is  very important  .

We  required our agents to pay for the sample, since we do the same to our manufacturers. Thats the right things if you want business you have to invest and you just imagine if 100 agents ask free samples at 100US$ each. What happen to the manufacturer or a seller. What will happen to the business.

I read here a lot of different sentiment. I understood, that the almost answers here think that it is okay to asking for samples fees, when they are in some value.

We for our samples in cause of the high value of our products also have to ask for a fee for the sample - with the possibility to get the money back in sending the sample back. Goes the business well (and that is sure), the fee with the first order is almost payed (about the provision we offer).

By the way: We are looking for sales agents for our products all over the world. If there is anyone, who has interest in that, do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

Thank you.
