Felt the Sichuan 8 earthquake thousands miles away in Hong Kong... with news video
Post 1 of 44
I was on 22/F when the shakes were happening. Precisely it was more a feeling of slow swing of building instead of shaking. Everybody in the flat felt the same.
I was in the central quake zone some 15 years ago in Los Angeles, and witnessed the damages and panics. So when I felt the swing today, I prayed for the people in the quake zone, and wished it didn't take place in costal areas.
An hours later the news report said it was in Sichuan. A HK friend of mine asked me to play golf in Sichuan this weekend and I didn't go because of other engagements. I sent her a SMS and an hour later she replied being safe in her area. If you have friends or business partners there, remember to send them a greeting.
I grasped a Chinese video as a quike reference. It has been 8 hours after the quake now, and youtube has no video report yet. [Video links updated on May 13]

The entire village was in dust

A major earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale jolted Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province on Monday, leading to the collapse of many buildings in the neighbouring city of Dujiangyan, Xinhua said.

Earthquake comes again! Why?
When shadow of snow disaster is not still faraway in my head, Earthquake!! Another demoniac shadow comes again in Wenlai county Sichuan province CN.! 7.8 level is a very grisly and high ruinous Earth’s opus. It is not fair for us.
When I saw a mother is calling her daughter or son name in building ruin, Her tearing and impatient face. My couples of eyes were wet. Why ! why! Temporality, Anything is no insignificant! We need love ,we need peace life! Looks people life is so brittle. What is the glory and money? I am not doing a big business. Even this year is loss in some cases. But I can supply 20000 pcs steamed breads to disaster area. I know it is small 20K steamed breads are equivalent 1500usd probably. But it can solve almost 2000 people meal when they are in a raining tent.
Please offer your hand and offer more love for people! Whatever you are Chinese or foreigner, Please contribute YOUR LOVES to Chinese Red Cross. Please refer their **** on website http://www.redcross.org.cn/.
Thank you all in advance.
