It is always too difficult for us to specify an unique part.Because parts are various from car model to car model not like those universal goods. So in this business,we usually judge from OEM no. which is fixed for a specified part when it is produced together with the original car. This is also called original parts no.,and are used to confirm a parts worldwidely. With this no. and also the checking system of parts,it would be very easy to find out and cofirm what it is.

However, there are always some people who don't know these? So how could we find out what exactly they want?

Actually we could also check information like Car Brand Name/Model/Model Year/Chassis No./Engine No. etc.So if you could not get a fixed OEM No.,you have to spend more time on the checking with all above information in the system. Take water pump for Honda Accord for example:

If you don't have OEM No.,then you would have trouble because there are more then 5 OEM No. for water pump, like 19200-PH1-000/19200-PH3-000/19200-PC6-000/19200-PT0-003/19200-P0A-003 etc.

All above no. are for Honda Accord but different models like:

19200-P0A-003 for Honda Accord Engine No.:F20B3/F22B5, Chassis No.:CD7/CD9, Model Year:1993-1997

19200-PT0-003 FOR Honda Accord Engine No.:F20A2/F20A8/F22A3, Chassis No.:CB3/CB7, Model Year:1990-1993

So next time when you order from your seller, don't just tell them you want water pump for Honda Accord. They would have no idea what to do.

Hope these would help you on your business!

Thanks for sharing. It is simmilar with American trucks. The last 6 digits of the VIN number ( last 8 on an International ) is what is called the line card. That number will give you all the specific information for any part needed on the truck, However if it is an older truck you need to be carefull because some items could have been modified or replaced with somthing totally different. When that happens it is a big head ache and requires alot of technical experience to identify the parts and find the correct parts needed.

Hey,thanks so much for your sharing too!You are the first one to reply me here!hah``

that's quite true if we get a wrong item in autoparts. And if you could not even find out the market of the wrong item, then it would just be rubbish and a waste!
