A Letter of Credit. To wit: A bank instrument wherein you put-up the money equivalent to the value of the deal and set the terms in the L/C. When those conditions are met the bank will release the funds. It costs, but is the safest way to go.

In my opinion .. there is no safe way because if i will buy a new stuff and i dont know the buyer i will not be sure that this person will send me the stuff .. so i suggest that if alibaba creat an apayment trust point .. in this way i will be trust that i can buy or sell for the person in other side of the world
