Of all the major markets Japan is by all aspects the least prepared and open for two way trade. Very few functioning guides, aids etc exist to help either the "INTO JAPAN" or "OUT OF JAPAN" business prospect make connections. The prominent business support bodies such as JETRO, chambers of commerce, regional trade promotion councils, lobby groups etc. play no role in direct assistance to prospective traders. 

For 15 yrs I've assisted Japanese companies find partners in the international market . Most striking in my work - match making, researching, product repositioning, and business coaching in Japan is seeing the lack of information and knowledge about the international market. The same applies to outsiders looking into Japan. Japan to the outside market could be Mars. Everybody knows it is out there somewhere and that is about it.

I understand the inside workings and short comings of business in and with Japan. I understand why the foreign entrepreneur sees Japan as a potential swamp and I believe there is no better person to shed real light on to this very very promising market - two way market.

I can offer any prospective trader a basic introduction on the Japanese domestic market particularly focusing on explaining the who's who of the Japanese company - who is the right person to contact, who is the person making the buy or sell decision, who is setting the market trend, who is paying what, and also teaching how to TALK BUSINESS WITH THE JAPANESE - how to/not to listen, how to/not to argue, how to/not to negotiate, how to / not to lodge a complaint. 

My expertise lies in automoblies, manufacturing, retail, materials and supplies sourcing and market trends. I am schooled in compliance - regulations (import/export, environmental, finance, shipping, storage and handling, pricing, labeling...) and have an excellent pool of contacts in the relevant authorities to stay updated on applicable guidelines, rules and law.

Some of my Japanese clients: Mazda Motor Corporation (automobiles - set up their China market entry, found new suppliers, agents, markets and settled claims for them), Atom Industrial Safety Goods (found new suppliers, buyers and distributors and invented new products for them), HIROBO (radio controlled unmanned helicopters - I'm the innovator of the company's ground breaking industrial application helicopters), Sumitomo (instructed on finance law in many countries), METI (arranging for METI senior people  - auto trade related - to be accepted into MBA programs in America's top economics schools) , IHI (resource sourcing), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (settling product malfunction claims with European buyers of industrial printers, liaising between buyers of gantry cranes and the maker, escorting international buyers and briefing them on how the marktet works), MIWA Corporation (auto parts innovator)...

Your quote is appealing to me. Though I have no experience of serving as a moderator, I feel like having a try. Why not? I know Japanese as well as English, having the expertise in international trading practices. As for the time to spend moderating, it is really up to what compensation I can get for the working hours.
