It could be, if the size of the transaction is relatively small. It also has its hassels, but offers greater protection. Everything has its own cost. Otherwise it would have been a simple choice for all of us.

as i know, there's kind of charges : Issuance/amendment L/C Charges, Acceptance Charges, Swift/Telex Mssg, Advising Charges, Confirming Charges, Discrepancy Charges, settlement charges, Reimbursement Charges, Documents Delivery Charges, Negotiation/Collection Charges, Discounting Charges, add. mssg charges, etc.
the a.m. rate of chgs is different from each bank.
