do you already have a dealer/agent in South America or Argentina? It is possible to assist you if you are interested.
Besides, I think that, as we citizens in most countries (I guess) support embassies and commercial appointed civil servants with our taxes, as they are located in different countries we could try to get to use our national representatives abroad. They might study different foreign markets. So if you try with your country's embassies around the world, this way you could make a good use out of your taxes and civil servants, and develop profitable relationships with companies around the world.

It is very difficult to get a distributer in the first tme you export unless you have a competitive and unique challenging product .Also,Distributers and agents don't import or buy in bulk in the first time they see the product.They must get small quantities and try the product first and test it in the market.the best thing to do is to search for a cheaper method of shipment or persuade the clients to see the item by their naked eye.Step by step, you will get agents and distributers.
Perhaps you could ask your current customers if they have an interest in becoming your agent or distributor in their country.
It makes sense really as they can then make a profit from selling your product to their own competitors rather than their competitors buying directly from you.
