Many this is so hard! I have been going around in circles, everytime I think I have found a company that sounds good I do a search for them and true as anything, they are a scam! The way this is going it is going to take me months to find a company that I can trust.
Has anyone done business with these two companies and can I trust them?

I'm not quite sure if you are the member No. 1.000,000 who realizes that "premium membership" means didly squat, but you might be close.
Frontpages and websites naturally don't mean too much, and only in personal communication do Alibaba employees typically admit that these "certifications" don't imply much more than that the company in question exists. Don't expect anything else!

From the sounds of things you are looking for consumer electronics and quite likely brand name products. That is where the scammers concentrate and this would explain why you have been unable to find any legitimate sellers. The reason is that they do not exist.
You cannot buy foreign brand name product in China and you will get ripped off if you try.
Xiamen is in Fujian Province and pretty much next door to Putian as things go. Do a search on google for your product and Putian and see what comes up. Scam after scam.
Even if you are looking for non-branded electronic product such as MP4 etc you won't get that in Fujian as there is little to no production of those products in that area. You need to cross the border to Guangdong province and the areas of Shenzhen and Guangzhou to find legitimate suppliers of electronics products.
Save yourself some time and money and stay away from Fujian Province if you are looking for consumer electronics.
Stay away from Asia altogether if you are looking for foreign brand name product.
