Hi Tom,

Wow, what a loaded question: "Fake Products" is a HUGE category. In short, the best way to know a fake, is to know the real thing very well. In the US, banks teach tellers all of the symbols and details of genuine money, and have them get so familiar with it that they're near nauseous  at the sight of us. Then when a fake comes along, it's easy to identify. I recommend doing this with whatever product you're looking at.

Coming across several fakes helps keep you sharp too ;). After developing several watches for customers, and seeing tons of fakes, I can tell you what are the most common ways factories counterfeit brands like Rolex and Tag, just because I've a lot of experience  with these products.

In short if you

1) Know the real thing really well

and

2) Get educated on the most common counterfeit methods

you'll be ahead of the curve.

One last thing, if you're working in grey market products (buying brand name products from one country to sell into another country via bypassing the brand's official distribution channel) you're sure to get cheated. Always be cautious in suppliers of these kinds of products.

Best of luck!

the best way is to recognize those products being sold outside their supply chain.  Brand names have dedicated distributors around the world.   Some large some small, however each and everyone can be traced back thru the manufacturer of the brand.  Then theres the thing of resale rights.  Just because you can get ahold of a product to sell does not give you the right to sell or distribute in other countries.  Understanding trade and distribution laws can help you make better judgements as to what is fake and what is real.

We can use Apple as an example.  While they do have an international warranty on some of their products they do not have single entity international distributors.  International distributors are those companies who have established themselves as corporations in the regions of the world that they serve.  These corporations can move stock between each of their corporations but cannot distribute to areas of the world where they have no distribution rights as contracted between the brand and the distributor.

Being that there are billions of products manufactured in the world there is no one way to identify them all.  While one manufacture may be utilizing special holographic labels another one is marking the internal case   This is why you need to know the product you are buying.  If you don't you will never know until its to late.  It could even be something as simple as what a cloner may think is a design flaw and omit that one thing.  I have had clients present me with cell phones they have bought as samples that they thought were originals only to find out the cases looked exactly the same right down to the illegally used FCC license only to open them up and know right away they were cloned because something was missing or something was in the wrong place even because the inside was incorrectly marked.   There are alot of more specific ways to identify real from fake, but I personally won't discuss them in an open forum.  These little alterations whatever they may be are known as brand fingerprints.

Spotting fake brand name product is easy.

The brand name companies make lots of money by selling licences and distribution rights. Distributors need a licence to sell the product and part of the licence conditions is that they can only sell to licenced buyers. And buyers need a licence to buy the product from licenced distributors.

So if you don't have a licence from the brand name company to buy their product then no legitimate seller will sell to you.

So you can be 100% sure that if you don't have a licence to buy the product that any seller who offers you the product is not selling the real deal.

It can be summed up. Buy branded from China, fake. Buy branded within your country, usually authentic. You can try to distinguish but unless you plan to travel and see the merch you are purchasing then it is a crap shoot.

Not entirely true as here in the US all you need is a resale license from your state.

Friend,

You need to know the qualities / packing / and the right source of a genuine product. You will then, be able to make out the difference between a genuine and fake, yourself.
The trouble is that, there are more fakes available, than the genuine products manufactured.
Fakes / Replicas, are manufactured only of those products, that are hot in demand and sell worldwide.

simple or difficult question

i see:what is your fake productions?l think all the production maybe exist the opposite fake

therefor you dont need know all,

but you need know how to disclose it fake .

at first ,you can be familar to your goods, its simple

if you cant find its shortcoming ,you can find it if it is fake via your friends or experts

of course it is difficulty,

therefore i suggest  that you should find your thinkable friend to become your supplier

or you can engage in the work.

thank you
