I am pretty new to this, but I ordered a couple of bags from China, 7 in total via EMS.
My package is stopped at customs for 20 days. I asked around and most people advised, US Customs Destroyed this package since items inside had designer bag logos on them. People told me US Customs will now be looking for you to fine or pursue charges, I thought to myself, what did I get myself into now. I only wanted these bags because the TRUE value would be 25,000 plus if I went to each Designer store, I paid 98.00 for all 7 I thought this was a good deal. Ok long story short, I get a pink slip please pick up you package, so i go to the post office, "looking around to see if there any Customs agents there ready to arrest me" and theres my package but no agents. I seems to be they release it, but want me to pay $225.00 more, saying this package was worth more then declared. So 225.oo +98.00 originally, not a bad price for these bags, I still think I was extorted by my own Govt. but it better then my bags getting destroyed right. I know everyones going to say I was lucky, but Everyone was so sure I was going to get fined, and already lost my package. Has this happened to anyone else. Was the bags so close to perfect they could tell they were fake, (I thought LV and Prada wasnt even made in china, matter of fact they dont have factories there, So it is our Customs Extorting more money out of us.) Well let me end  this now before this is forwarded to Customs and they really come looking for me.......just wanted to know if anyone else had this happen.

I too am new to this. I have 2 packages stuck in customs and am also terrified that customs is coming to get me. I feel some relieve that you did get your package even if it did cost more in the long run.  Have you purchased anything since?  Or did the fear of the ordeal end it for you?

I think they are watching you to see what you do with the merchandice. If these were for personal use nothing more may come of this, however if you are selling these on E Bay you may find yourself in some very hot water. Also they have all your information and will be looking to see if you are purchasing and importing any more fake goods. If you do then do not expect to be so lucky next time.

Diesel is correct..... What he didn;t mention is that not only the Feds might come after you, the actual company (eg Gucci) can also come after you if you try selling a fake of their product. Law in this isn;t even close to gray.. its solid black letter law.. They can basically sue you for evey cent you have, and future earnings as well...... and if they feel like being really nasty they can probaly get your first born child as well!

Good Point Foow, Thanks.  As if dealing with the fall out from U.S. Customs would not be enough of a headache, then the hassle of dealing the actual company whose fake product you are selling. Ouch..... that is just too much risk for me.

can anyone give me information what amount of all china produce is exporting in US(%)
and what amount of all factories in China is American brands? THANKS
