Hey everyone,

I have been a fan of the forum for years. I am finally going to incorporate my company. We want to be import/export agent.

Should we start looking for buyers first or suppliers first. Will suppliers even interested in us since we have no background.

What do you guy think about Vietnam as a county to be my suppliers?

regards,

Replying to [Made in Vietnam] concerning your 3 questions:

1. Start with identifying exactly what products you want to sell to exactly what target market. You'll go broke unless you firstly identify your buyers under exhaustive marketing research.

2. Suppliers don't give two hoots about your background. They are happy to sell you whatever you want (and don't want) the same as the shop around the corner from your home. But, you'll likely come a cropper unless you also do exhaustive due diligence on potential suppliers.

3. Yes, Vietnam is making great leaps forward in being a reliable supplier of many sorts of products at a very competitive price. But, dud goods and scammers also exist there same as in any country on this planet.

Replying to [Made in Vietnam]:Dear Friend, first of all, you need to have a vision. I mean decide for the budget. thereafter the product or Industry you have knowledge or you are interested to start with. See Company background or Sales network is always enquired by supplier if they want recurring business or establishment of a Brand. As an Import / Export Agent you need to have good contacts with your buyer and supplier. But Don't worry, if you have the strong will power and ability to deal with people noone can stop you to achieve your objectives. but a proper vision is needed and implementation for convert the same in reality.

All the Best[em19]

The most important thing you should do, is choose the product you are interested in and know them very well, then choose your market. All of buyers like specical seller.

Replying to [Made in Vietnam]:[em1][em1]Find yourself a good supplier, get some sample, and then find the buyer. Beware of Vietnam law, the red tape there is long. Also, be ready to pay for kick back.[em1][em1]

Let me know if you need any more help both in Vietnam and US.

yes you need to know what products you will provide and prices too, but the point is down to clients they must trust you and want to pay money to you, if you tell them you act as an agent you need to say what you do for them, benifits to the client, is it better than doing business direct with factory, i feel many people forget too, if your clients send you money and you buy from the factory, if the client fails to send the balance, you are the buyer not the client and must find ways to clear the balance to the factory, so must think about the ways you become an agent, [em19]
