I ordered one as a sample- this was Nokia 6288i they were selling it for $125. that was announced price for that phone. I transferred them money using Western Union and in two weeks I recieved another phone which is triple time cheaper then mentioned above. (I can buy this phone in my country in brand shop and still it will be cheaper). For now I cannot connect with them.... but please notice that this is my experience. probably you'll find someone better. Be carefull.

P.S. in the systeme he is named as "Jack Cheng"
Search for "Nokia" or any other major phone brand name under "For Buyers" at top of these pages and you see thousands for sale - listed by hundreds of different Chinese suppliers.
Or, post a Buy Lead on Alibaba (or on any other global B2B site) and you will be swamped with m of sellers offering brand name phones at 50% to 80% below retail price.
Sadly, NONE ARE GENUINE (save by one Hong Kong based seller I happen to know whose price is close to normal retail). Lately, the fake phone scammers are also increasingly operating from countries other than China.
These phones consist two types. The knock offs are not even good copies. They break or stop working within a few weeks. The refurbished ones are typically very old discarded genuine phones fitted with new late model covers, not fit for purpose.
These fakes are mostly made by backyard outfits in Shenzhen and sold to Alibaba sellers for around $10 to $30 each depending on sort - for which you in turn pay $80 to $150.
It is impossible to buy proper brand name phones outside the authorised distribution system - almost exactly the same as you cannot buy a new motor vehicle from other than an authorised dealer.
In essence, the brand name phone companies sell their product to big distributors who in turn onsell to retailers. Search Nokia's (and others websites) for a list of their authorised distributors.
NEVER FORGET, YOU CAN'T BUY BRAND NAME PHONES FROM UNAUTHORISED SELLERS - EXACTLY THE SAME AS YOU CAN'T BUY A NEW FORD CAR FROM AN UNAUTHORISED DEALER.
Thank you so much AUSSIE! Since posting the question I have read a lot of yours and other contributors' posts and am convinced that at least Alibaba if not China is not the way to go.
Cheers mate it really helped a lot!

Quoting from [AbdullahArshad]:
Hi, fellow traders!
I was just wondering if anyone has tried to buy original Nokia, HTC or LG or any other kind of branded phones from China.
There seem to be a lot of companies who offer to sell original Nokia phones on a very low price but I am very skeptical of that.
Has anyone had a good/bad experience of buying 'branded' phones in China? Were they really the original phones or just knockoffs?
