Buyer might have found a better deal from another supplyer. Some buyers are always in search for a better deal or product comparison to see which product can perfom better than the other. Some company's charge extral fees for samples and others don't. Some sales reps. delibrately increase sample shipping cost. Example, I was about to buy 2 samples of a electric car jack from two different company. Quotation on a PI from one company was twice as the other company. I end up buying from the one with a better price. Buyers like me always shop arround to find a better deal before buying.

Hi there,

FIrst, your price is too high and he cant be bother to entertain you anymore.

Second, he might be a competitor trying to survey the price. After getting your quotations vanish into thin air.

There could be several good reasons why your prospective buyers are not responding back to you. One  most often cited  is that it could be  because you did not provide the buyers enough information to make buying decision including the price quoted. When a buyer asks you for a quotation provide the buyer a carefully prepared Proforma Invoice. here is a link on how to compalet a proforma invoice  http://resources.alibaba.com/article/29272/Using_a_pro_forma_invoice_will_help_to_increase_your_profits.htm by completing a thoroughly prepared proforma invoice you will certainly increase your chances for the buyer to accept your offer.

Perhaps he is still sourcing out other vendors.  One thing you could do is to follow up and see if he is still interested, or perhaps sell him on "service" like fast shipping or "gift" etc.  Don't call and start asking if the price is too high because he'll have the ball in hand and will try to push for as low price as possible.  Stand your ground, and remind him that there is a "price" in quality =p
