sending ID and registration copy
Post 1 of 10
Hi,

I ran into one buyer here that wanted me to send him a copy of my ID card and copy of registration of our company at court, saying that he needs it in order to see whether we are genuine company.

Is this some kind of scam, if yes, tell me more.

Thanks

I rather to suggest you upgrade to as TrustPass member than providing such sensitive and confidential documents to unknown buyer.  Let's the expert do the work.

As I see you are member of the SCCI, give him this data first and he can confirm the reality of your existing company with them !

Agree with Wilhem, i assume your organization is on file of some organization. You can give your buyer the information of their website/address and they should be able to verify your status as a genuine company.

Not sure how a foreign buyer could check the validity of your local ID and Business Registration.

Nobody refuse to give a company number, but copy of ID Card together with a copy of the

Companies Court registration, is easily used to make a fake invitation letter to apply for a visa !

You should think about this !

Yes, that is exactly what I was thinking...it is not a problem to send a reg.number also with a copy of company registration, it can be also seen on web-site of our court. However, sending my ID card seemed a little odd, and I know there are many ways to abuse this kind of stuff. Plus, the guy I was talking to did not know much about business we discussed so I suppose it was some con-artist or something, it is a pity that there are some people like that here among  us...

I think it is no necessary to show them.  If they want to prove your company, they can through alibaba or another survey company.  There are too many fraud in the market.  Don't be easy to open your personal information to peoples. [em1]

You feel it is so hard to get a invitation letter to apply for a visa? any buyer that would make contact with a Chinese supplier and tell them they would come to visit them, and would they send a stamped letter via fax, or post/email they would do with pleassure, and many people come to China bypass this and apply for  travel visa's and have no need for any letter from a supplier.

I would tell people if they supply some type of information about their company, make a scan copy on yout pc, file format jpg, and make your watermark on the complete page, you can also use gray color back ground and wite text, makes is very hard to copy or edit information.

Hi ,

It depends on the circumstances like if you have asked the buyer to deposit the advance in some private account or account name other than what is mentioned on your website , then taking a precaution ,the buyer is doing right as he dont know to whom account he is transferring the money and once he have any identity of yours so he can be sure of paying the money and if anytime someone wants to run away with his money then he can use the identity but again it only matters if the information supplied by your for your bank account is not matching, otherwise the buyer don't  need this information.
