Anyone who contacts you with offers will of course claim to be good ,but so what does that prove? If you want to find good trading partners,you will need to put in a bit more effort.

Hey man,
Go directly to a serious company. Ask that the company gives you their website and a contact email from that website. Do a search on Alibaba, there are hundreds of suppliers of media players and all kinds of USB stuff. See their profile, and make sure you DONT get interested in companies that sell footwear, earings, socks... AND they offer computer equipment. This is scam, walk away from them. Look for a company that deals with electronic equipment and computer stuff. Then you know you may be looking at a valid supplier. Then see in their Contact tab if they have an actual website. Go to their official website (eg. www.Something.com) and find the "Contact Us" or "Sales" link. This is how you get to a valid email address from a supposedly serious enough supplier. Then write an email, and ask for a product catalogue and payment options. In the meantime, do a search on the Alibaba forum and see if anybody has done business with the company you got in touch with. If you find negative reviews, walk away. You dont need to risk. There are plenty of reliable suppliers out there... but you have to do your homework. If you dont find anything on the company, take due diligence and google the company. If there's no bad news, it MAY be a good sign.
Then make your selection of the product catalogue and ask for a Proforma Invoice (P/I, or PI) and ask for a bank transfer payment (T/T, stands for Telegraph Transfer). If it is a serious supplier, they should have a tidy catalogue, probably made in Excel as it offers best control of the inputs. If you see pictures and text just dumped into a Word file, be careful. This tells you that there is not a lot of professionalism on the "supplier's" end. When you get the PI, check the payment info. If the bank account is on an individual's name, drop it. If you send a bank transfer to a private account, you may get screwed. So insist on paying directly to a bank account who's beneficiary is the company that you are in touch with. Take good caution with the prices on the invoice and the freight price. If the price is too good to be true, it is probably a scam.
So, you DO:
- finish your due diligence research (google, Alibaba forums...)
- find an official contact email address from the official website (not me@hotmail.com or alike, but sales@something.com)
- Pay attention to the product catalogue. it is the salesmen for the company, so they should have put obvious energy in designing it.
- Ask for TT info from the corporate bank account
- post your experience of doing business with this company. If its a good experience, praise them, if it is a bad experience, spit on them, but DO IT PUBLICLY.
You DONT:
- run around looking for offers that are too good to be true
- buy computer equipment from a "clothes store"
- ask for somebody to do your research (it realy pays of to learn to do your work.)
- send individuals your hard earned money, they wont say Thanks, and you'll be proclaimed a JERK by your friends who did their homework
oh, and you DONT eat the yellow snow... its bad for you :)
