I heard , steamship company will not issue bill of lading , if value of the goods should be shown on BL.

1. Can bill of lading state value of the goods?
2. If not, what is the reason?

1.) It's definetely unussual BL state value of the goods, but if needed so, you can ask ship. co. to put the value on it. shipping company has no rule to reject it.

2.) Because of the B/L functions are as 1. Cargo Receipt, 2. Delivery Documents and 3.Title of Goods there is no use to put the value of goods in BL. except there is special reason for that.

I would say it's rather risky. It's like advertising your goods asking for trouble. Better to avoid this.

As far as I know the AWB can show the commercial value of the goods however on Bill of lading there is not such column at first place. That's why goods value can not be shown on OBL. Trust that clarifies

   general  the Bill of Loading Will State the value of goods the Commercial invoice and

  packing list  is according to the content of it
