First of all, I'm sorry about my English, it's not well. But I think I can tell you what I'm thinking and also asking.

I took some quotation for 10.000pcs USB flash drives from Chinesse manufacturers. Average price of 1GB USB flash drive is 4USD. I chaffered with them but it changed only 0,20USD. Maybe this is a normal situation but we can take it at 6,8 USD (there are lower prices in my country, this the quality one) and this is the only ones price in Turkey. If we take 10.000pcs of these the price is going to be 5,5USD. No shipping, tax and other costs. Our suppliers taking these products from China too. So where is the problem? Why don't we take good prices? I dont think this a quality difference or fake capacity problem.

Actually, 10K 1GB USB drives is a drop in the bucket.   Thats really not alot to a manufacturer.  Now if you had a contract for 5-10K per month the price would really drop.  but then I'd be buying them from Korea, not China.  It also depends on what memory chip and controler module is being used as well for your cost.  The PCB circuit boards are quite standard.  if your looking for a better price you might consider contacting some PCB manufacturers in your country and have them manufacture them for you.

The flash of 1GB now is about usd3.1/pc about . and we the cost for outer cover for packing cost for worker's salary etc.  So if you want to get the good quality then the price need about usd4.0 about. or if you need the metail material then the price will be more high .

There are some factory make the business in " update flash " . It means they use 128mb or 256mb to UPDATE to 1gb. when you check  the goods.it shows "1gb" in your computer but when you use it .It's not enough 1gb memory realy. it's just need usd1.2/pc for this kind flash memory.then you can see why their price is so lower.

I think the good quality is more important than good price if you want to do the long business on this item .

Hello,sir.I have read your problems .Acturally , you don't need so desperate..Maybe there there are a lot of suppliers can provide you 1gb USB drives with a low price, but there must be some problems withj it , for examplre , there are not enough space, some suppliers just  adopt some technical to upgrade it with 512mb , or sometimes ,the flash is not so good .

you should believe that what you have buy are worthy of what you have spent. if your supplier want to cooperate with you for a long term, he must be provide you good quilty product with a proper price.

Your article is really good. You are  really professional in industrial. But you know when we buy PCB from other's. We have to face labor cost.  Turkish & UK labor cost is  certainly higher than china at least 6 times. So I suggest to find some good china manufacturier cooperate. Firstly, nice to see you. Let me answer you, it is not ture. I'm not sure why your friend told you like that, his words will hurt some suppliers, if suppliers have profits, why not do business with you? A good relationship should be built on both of seller and buyer. 10,000pcs is really not huge to manufactory, the cost for 1GB usb flash drive is not cheap, maybe they can provide you more discount for this quantity, anyway, i do not agree your friend/s point.
