Suitcase BikeThe point of a folding bike is to make it easily storable when you're not riding it. A design succeeds or fails on the speed of converting it, and to a lesser extent on the folded size. The Brompton is the king of foldable bikes for a reason. When Danny reviewed one a couple of weeks back, he had it broken down in 25 seconds.

In Barcelona, where I live, there are a huge number of plegable (foldable) bikes and I see people wrap them up in much less time. With a little practice it's quicker than locking it to a post.

The Chinese made Suitcase Bike, then, is less than successful. From the video we can see that not only are there an awkward number of catches and compartments, but you actually have to remove the peddles and saddle to fit everything inside the box. That's another cardinal rule broken. If it's removable, you will lose it.

The big selling point here is the airline regulation size and weight. You can check the bike as if it were a suitcase. Handy I suppose but, in Europe at least, you can hire a proper bike in any major town.

Replying to [ange]:Hello : I am a Canadian Importer.I only import bikes .I agree ,the speed of the folding is important, but no less important than the weight or the folded size.yet quality always rules.I sell the Strida bike from a great China supplier. It folds in 6 seconds, but some feel it it too big.The one thing I find most buyers want is a folding bike with gears ,and light weight.I have been fascinated with the "suitcase bike" but am waiting for another company in China to finish developing it .It is posted on Alibaba ,but only 90% ready for production. It doesnt have any parts you can lose,as none of them remove .I see great potential in this other "suitcase bike".Selling folding bicycles is like selling perfume. You can never tell which one will motivate any customer to buy.The more variety of unique folding bicycles I can stock, the longer the customer will stay in my store .Then the more likely they will purchase. This suitcase bike will draw many customers to you ,even if is initially just curiosity.
