how do you think you can jump out of a worse business circle of hotel slippers?

Hi experts and everybody,

Here I am getting into the crazy situation of selling our hotel slippers to foreign markets, I cannot say its bad but its difficult. Our town is famous for the making of hotel products, hundreds of manufactories share the markets no matter they are small or bigger, the customers inquire many suppliers on the same product and ask for good price everywhere, there are some suppliers promoting their business by offering low prices even sometime they cannot cover their cost, and finally they provide inferior products and delay the deliveries and some other worse situation may happen, this leads to a vicious circle of business.

Our factory is a middle-sized one, cannot offer lower prices but not the highest, quality is nice and credit is the most important thing for us, provide stable delivery time for regular big orders, small orders acceptable.
If you were me, how do you think you can jump out of the circle and have buyers' attentionn?I think some of you are facing the same situation.

Replying to [68217]:If you know that your price is reasonable, your quality is good and the after sales service is good, do not lower your price anymore as it will get nowhere.

Is there anything with low cost price and can accomodate with hotel guests' need, throw them in as bonus. Maybe like shower cap or tongue scrapper?

You need to work out an order volume in order to have that extra bonus.

Sell the idea to the hotelier with their hotels name and contacts printed on beautiful design slippers, where the guess can take them home and uses for their beach, garden and home wear.

Something as hotel's sovenirs. Sell the benefits of your slippers to the hoteliers instead of just selling slippers.

My understanding is that you already have exposure to customers but that perhaps you are losing these customers to other factories in your area.

I agree that you should not lower prices below the amount that you need to be happy. Once you start producing for less margin than you want then you will start to resent the buyer and perhaps cut corners.

I think that the key is to be honest. Make yourself familiar with the other suppliers in your area and determine what is your unique selling proposition - basically what do you do that other suppliers don't do.

Why should a customer buy from you and not one of the dozens of other factories in your area?

I often ask this question of new factories and they very rarely give me a good answer.

I would point out the problems that can be had with that product range and outline why those issues are not a problem at your factory. This way although the customer may first go somewhere else for a lower price he may come back again to you after meeting one of the problems that you mentioned earlier. In that case you will have a very loyal customer!
