Hello everyone [em17] I am slowly moving towards starting my own business and opening web shop. Like many beginners I do not have much capital to invest and I have been thinking for the while about the low-cost start.
I come up with something which I am not sure will work but it seems quite tempting. [em10]
Idea is the following. I will look for some trade agent who sits in China and having already B2B as well as B2C activities and try to make following agreement:
I put some of its products on my web side and market it in my country (Sweden) (lets imagine that "agent" do not have any sales going on here so far) and when I get en order I redirect it directly to the "agent". "Agent in its turn will post the ordered product directly from China to final consumer". It will just safe so much costs on delivery and storage...
Please feel free to criticize me cos it must be too good to be true, or...? Can you recommend some agents who might work on such terms?

Your idea is called "drop shipping" and we are exactly the "agent" you are looking for.

Go to this site for an introductory writing about "drop shipping":

We have been selling online for years and know what will make a "drop ship" business blossome and what will screw it to death. One of the fundamental things is you have to know well about quality of the products and vendors before you will start drop shipping.

Replying to [NdeBanko]:Your concept of 'dropshipping' is good and you don't need agent. You can liase with many dropshipping companies for various types of goods from this website;

www.dropshipping.com

However, you need to remember this:

After the supplier send the goods directly to the buyers, will your customer deals directly with the supplier for their future needs since they now have the supplier's contact?
