What is the best way not get scammed?
Post 1 of 38

I have been looking around alot on the forums about diffrent companies all over the world getting scammed by other companies.

What are the best ways to avoid this. To me looking from a seller prospective if you were going to be shipping product to lets just say China then you should recieve a percentage of the money as a deposit.

Then most companies track where your shipment is when the buyer/ seller sees that you have sent your product then you should either pay or recieve the rest of the amount that you owe.

By doing this you are cuttind down your risk, and at the same time if for some reason you do not recieve payment you can cut your losses call the company and get your shipment send back to you. Am i wrong in this assumption or are there better ways to go about this?

Replying to [NovaScotiaCanada]: LET'S JUST SAY THIS..................................A REAL BUYER SHOULD NOT, REPEAT, NOT HAVE TO PUT UP ANYTHING UNTIL IT IS INSPECTED BY A THIRD INDEPENDENT PARTY OR THE REAL BUYER VISITS THE FACILITY WHILE THE MATERIALS ARE BEING LOADED.

BE CAREFUL OF WOLVES IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING.....THIS IS TO ALL ALIBABA MEMBERS.

TAKE LIGHTLY WHAT THIS PARTICULAR MEMBER HAS TO SAY.

MORE ON THIS LATER![em18][em3]

Replying to [takiat]:As a buyer ,depends on more Due Diligence work before payment !
Sometimes the price is not the most important ,as long as you can find a reliable ,worthytruth supplier ,i think you will be very luck !
When you keep a long term business cooperation with that supplier ,i believe you will get the better price in future ,becuase you always purchase products from that ,he will paareciate you ,and hope you can become business partners and friends!
Or you can find an Agent from China ,let him help you finish some things !

Replying to [takiat]:Take the risk of your part, and do some Credit researching on the companies you may purchase from.say, google it,and never to do business with those companies who got even no paid-service.of course, there might be some valuable suppliers who have no clue left on the Net,but please, use double-door strongbox.[em17]

The problem with the so-called "Credit searches" on the net is that anyone can post anything on the net, there is hardly any census internationally. So, if you have for example severe competition, then someone could easily circulate rumours about you or backstab you on the net to limit or spoil your chances in business. Most people are honest, but some are wolves... [em4]
So, to add my 2 cents worth, I would suggest to listen to one's gut feelings in addition to one's common sense and any additional information one gathers on the net and first-hand. [em1]

Replying to [takiat]: The best way is to go with a Letter of Credit. This allows the buyer to hold on to the money until the shipment is recieved and the seller to know that the buyer is serious and will recieve the money as soon as the letter of credit is completed. Go to accordcci.com or email me at david@accordcci.com with any questions.

I am pretty sure that I got scammed. The product was supposed to be delivered in maximum one day from London to U.S. I paid Western union of course. But, it is the Easter Holiday and all, so I guess people are off Friday until Tuesday. Anyway, he gets the money Friday around 7a.m. central time, around 1p.m. London time. I havent heard from him since. I checked eveywhere, name of company anagram limited and added keyword fraud and scam. Nothing. Companies house gov website, says it has been in business since 1991. Which I was told by Daniel Muller (the supposed owner of anagram limited). Search again, before I sent the money thursday, and nothing seems wrong. Well Western Union popped me $68 to send around $900 and didnt post the transaction on the website thursday. Daniel Muller emails asking what happened on thursday and that western union said it wasnt posted online. He then said it was too late to go check on thursday, so he would friday first thing in the morning. He also claims that he is open 9a.m. - 6 p.m. monday through friday. I find out that he picks up the money at 659am. eastern time, which is 559am my time. add 6 hours about for london time and 11 or 12 a.m. If they had holiday or half day friday and dont go back to work until tuesday, he couldve atleast sent email and gave me tracking number. He also told me that his web designer was off for a couple of days. Before I sent money, I found that several other websites under his name are popping up. He said that he wanted more business. THen after my money was sent and I check today online, I see that there is finally a complaint about anagram limited. It was made on saturday. they said the same thing that I said. Pay for a product, never get it, and cant get in touch with who you bought it from. But it could be the holidays until tuesday over in london. My philosophy is you get paid for the item, you send it then. not 3 or 4 days later. all I could find out about that guy is that he was in a marathon and got 120th place or 102nd and that there is a dan muller in london aged 29. Daniel muller also according to western union picked up the money at shivant news over there. I cant find it either. Maybe I will get my stuff tuesday or Wednesday. The prices were about 50% lower than ebay on certain items and some were actually more. so it is possible that you can get stuff that much reduced. and the government company website should be held accountable for saying that anagram limited is in good standing. So i guess only use western union if it is sent to the manufacturer only. Or not at al.
