How could i improve my direct selling plans?
Post 1 of 11
Were only a new company to be launched in 2 more years, yes we know that sounds like a while but alot of planning is needed. We were wondering on what you thought about direct selling and how we could improve our company for the industry. We also would like to know what people would like to see from our company. Our company will sell jewellery, skincare and handbags to customers across Australia through consultants. We already have plans to only allow the 'best' people to join our team. Now we require a little more assistance and if you have some great resources we would love those too. Feel free to email as i may not be able to check the forum or board every day.
Kind regards,
Michelle
ps: feel free to move this post if in the wrong area.

[em19]In building a business, we all know that we must to have a money to introduce our company, like joining some Show and other related show when your product belong. Youre website is the one source for selling, advertising, search engine (alibaba), sourcing of buyer (the good buyer one)... Selling product is not easy, but we, as seller everything we can do, we have to do it and have a good sale.. Also most important of selling is always answer the phone when client is calling (always on the office everytime when are called)... Advertising is also important..

Hope that my answer can retrieve your mind even a little..and can help your company.

So, basically you're a retail company selling cosmetics and all that kind of stuff. I'm not involved in retail, but I can suggest the following:

- Basic things like creating some real good catalogues if you don't already have 'em, etc.

- Try establishing an online affiliate program. It doesn't cost much, but can give pretty good results if you're willing to put effort into it.

- Try finding and using something more or less unique for the sales process. Or at least unusual. Maybe some kind of lottery for your buyers with inexpensive, but unusual prizes, etc.

Replying to [Aussie Company]: Thanks for your support, to give you an example of the type of company I'm running it is sort of like Tupperware or Avon. (Its a direct selling company) meaning we sell our products through consultants etc. If you have any suggestions or ideas feel free to let me know.

If you follow the Tupperware model, it is on the community level approach.

There are number of community clusters you can use: Religious groups, Community Clubs, and Associations. Search websites and join Community Discussions on family lifestyle, weddings, health and wellness and other associated themes.

Within these groups, identify the leaders, either formal or informal, and target them. Invite them to your Sales Centre for presentation, tea and snacks and membership registrations. Provide the incentives for them to promote your product, personally they must be a believer themselves before they can convince others the benefits of the products. You have to get a base operation centre, where there is ample facilities such as: Multimedia presentation, lecture hall with sitting capacity of 50 people, LCD projectors, demonstration sets and Scientific proofs of efficacy of the health products. A qualified Dietrician or Pharmacist will be a good team player. For some countries like the USA, written testimonies play important part to influence decision-making. Celebrities are most impactive, try using some well-know figures to wear your jewelleries for a ceremony with much publicity.

Direct selling involves a strong logistic and support from the base. You need to hold periodic meetings, on any venue to update and input fresh information to the leaders. You can start Network marketing or Pyramid Marketing, which ever the law of your country allows.

Draw out a marketing plan, and run the program to test it, and fine-tune it if there are areas needed to be deleted or improved upon.

Replying to [Aussie Company]:I am suprised that you ask this question.

Before you start business, you should have surveyed the market, identiied products, identified your markets, business plan, marketing plans and most of important, a time frame and where you want your business to be.

Anyway, it is not too late. Join your competitor as a member (line Avon and tuperware), attend their seminars and training to understand and copy how they work. Like a sponge, absorb as much knowledge as you can.

A SMART BUSINESSMAN WILL COPY ANOTHER SMART BUSINESSMAN METHOD OF SUCCESS!

Replying to [Aussie Company]: WOW. This has been the first REAL advice i have received so far. I actually had a friend than ran an Avon business a few years ago, their commission was poor but the structure and delivery system was always on time. I like Nutrimetics and their concepts and have a few friends that have done this business. I also did Tupperware myself so from experience i know what people want in the business, i find it too pushy and the products need to be different than just containers. I already have ideas such as my company will be different i.e. less pushy, fair commission, great rewards and more. We already started a basic outline of our information pack, so far it looks amazing and i cannot wait for it to begin, but still alot of preperation. I would vote you as the best answer so far but would love to hear many more tips or suggestions and what you want this company to have which other ones like tupperware for instance don't have, LET ME KNOW!

Replying to [Aussie Company]:I market herbal remedy products for a factory which solely in charge of manufacturing.

Among all, our herbal coffee for sexual health and general wellbeing does the best. Curretnly we export them to Middle East, Turkey, Philippines and Thailand all in OEM private branding and label basis. We are still in the midst of negotiating a deal with Germany and U.S.

You are welcome to visit my website with my coffee's brand name, ApexCafe for further information.

Wish both of us luck and smooth sailing in our business
