Well, import duties are paid during the delivery, aren't they? So, if your client has to pay import duties, it means that he has already placed an order with you.

As for trust in general, there are some basic methods. Some are costly, some aren't:

- Establish a good web site with easy navigation.

- Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner; make telephone calls or pay a visit if necessary.

- Place photos and videos of your people and facilities and products if there are any on the web site. Don't place 3d pictures of buildings and products: they look cute, but they make a prospect buyer ask why you don't use real pictures of real things.

- Invite prospect buyers to visit your company, do it by telephone or face-to-face and on your own initiative. Most people from abroad or even from other cities won't come, but the proposal will assure them that you are willing to show you are serious and legitimate and offer high-quality products/services. And of course, be ready to accept those that will actually pay a visit, for they are the ones most likely to buy from you[em3]

- Place some official documents on your web site; make the photos large enough so that every detail, name and number would be seen (be careful, though: don't provide information usable for scammers!)

- Have some third party verify your reliability; aquire some certificates recognized all around the world.

- Enter some local business association (like CCI, etc.) and provide a means for everybody to call these organizations and ask whether you really are a member. Moreover, encourage them to make a call.

These things are the first to have come to my mind, there are probably a lot more methods.[em7]

You have to make your buyers to realize that customs tax is not within control of overseas sellers.

On the other hand, the seller should make sure all required export documents are available for buyers to clear customs.

These acts are important on international trading, regarding it is conducted over online or offline.
