Replying to [rienimayasari]: I know in Australia employers must pay more than $5 per hour for labour but if for work experience the employer has the right to give $5 per day (this is when school or study students get to experience work for the first or second time and learn about it and than get marked on what they do). Most employers choose to pay over $5 an hour, fast food places are the worst, hungry jacks charge about $6 and red rooster only charge $6.25 per hour or so for part time grade 1 workers.

There is a FEDERAL minimum wage, but some states also have higher minimum wages as well. These numbers do NOT include the other things required in some states such as health care etc that the state laws can contain as well. There are also some other rules that might apply depending on how many employees the comany has.
