Alibaba, please do something!
Post 1 of 3
Alibaba is mainly a business portal for China businesses to link with outside world.

Time and time again we have seen so many fraud cases from China. It will come to a time when people will stay away from China, the way we block any African traders (Sorry, I know there are some genuine).

When there are too many scammers from a country, people's immediate defense is to totally dissociate from the country regardless of any issue.

I am sure Alibaba has done a search on the Company, right? How about requesting the Companys to send Alibaba a photostated endorsed (by the country's Business of COmmerce) registration as part of the requirement.

It is a practise that a genuine Company Certificate has to accompany the photostated copy before Business of Commerce would stamp on the photostated copy.ne business certificate. In that way, at least the frist step of the search is done.

Replying to [oldie]: Actualy Oldie those can be and are faked as well. Unless you can read Chinese only a few citys in China have sites where you can check registration of a company. Otherwise you will need a lawyer to check the validity of a registration.

Replying to [Ranger]:Dear Ranger,

I can read Chinese pretty well. Please provide the sites to check China's Company Registration as I believe it will be a very useful information for worldwide traders.

Instead of relying on lawyers, I believe many can pay their countries' Chinese friends to assist.

For me this information will be of great help. Once I was nearly fell into Zhengzhou's kidnap plot. The criminal was so professional in international trade. The only instinct I had during that time was the website, which was linked to high profile mega projects. When clicked those link, nothing came out.

On several occasion, we communicated by phone and even faxed over the drafted agreement until it finalised. The mistake I had was I rely on our Company's Manager to check with the China's Embassy but he chose an easy way out by saying everything was ok. My cow sense made me left for China 2 days before the appointment date to check on the address without the knowledge of the Buyer. True enough, there was no such address at all and it was a residential area.

According to the local police, it was a common tactic to kidnap the foreign businessmen by luring them to China on a diplomatic way. Upon arrival at the airport, they would receive and kidnap the victims.
In fact, a rich Malaysian restaurant owner was kidnaped just few months ahead and paid a huge ransom for release.

In business, we always thought about monetary lost. Who would ever thought of such malice!

Frankly, from then onwards, I never touch any China's enquiry. I know there are many genuine good Chinese traders, it is just " Once beaten twice shy"!
