Yahoo owns 39% of Alibaba. Can Jack Ma tells Microsoft to stop bid on Yahoo?
Post 1 of 2
I saw this interesting articles the other day about Alibaba, which is 39% owned by Yahoo and 30% owned by SoftBank of Japan, is concerned about the Microsoft bid on Yahoo. Softbank's president Son is also concern about the deal since Yahoo Inc and Softbank has a business relationship with their joint business company called Yahoo! Japan.

According to the articles I read in Yahoo Finance, Alibaba has not give any comment, but Softbank has already voiced his concern about Microsoft-Yahoo bid and can sabotage the whole deal given the fact that he has a shareholder stake in Yahoo. But at this moment it seems that the billionaire does not want to make any action yet.

So, given that Japan famous entrepreneur has spoken out on Yahoo, can Jack Ma stop the bid by Microsoft too?

Please clarify by the pronoun, 'he' meaning who? The billionaire, Bill Gates? How could he sabotage the whole deal, when he has a shareholder stake in Yahoo, given that it is not a majority share.

"So, given that Japan famous entrepreneur has spoken out on Yahoo, can Jack Ma stop the bid by Microsoft too?" Tell us how can Jack Ma stop the bid, if the Director's Referendum is to open the lot of shares or the corporation for merging or strategic alliance.

What do you suggest for Alibaba to do in this situation? Will Alibaba benefit from a merger with Software giant, Microsoft, or will there be a sell-out due to the monopoly of the e-business with another important foothold into Asia, through the bamboo curtain.
