Product to be produced according to specifications
Post 1 of 3

I have a product that revolutionary for handicap and disabled people all around the world. Potential will be astronomical. I would like to enter a patent application in China, as well set up the engineering, tooling, manufacturing as well as distribution.

What is the procedure to obtain a patent application an expedient fashion. I made a DVD on the prototype as well an animation on the product. How long a patent application would take, and how much?

Could I commence engineering and production under the umbrella "PATENT PENDING" would I been protected????! Could be obtain from a designated manufacturer funding as well.

Best regards

Dear Charles:

There are several types of patents available in China to protect your product, the fastest of which would be a utility model patent.

My firm's website has a number of FAQs on patents in China, which you may find useful: http://www.lehmanlaw.com/resource-centre/faqs/intellectual-property/patent.html

You should also consider concluding Non-Disclosure Agreements with any manufacturer which you discuss your product with in China.

If you have further questions, you may contact me directly at elehman@lehmanlaw.com.

Regards,
