and as for npwp number i am still waiting on.

say if all these check out does this mean that this company/person is legitimate or what?
the terms of payment are tt or i can use pay pal
is pay pal ok to use or is there no chance of getting my money back if they are fraudulant?

Paypal? I don't think it's being used in Indonesia, but that was just my assumption here as I'm from Malaysia and up-to-date I had never heard of anyone using PayPal from South East Asia. Usually we go by TT / LC.LC thus far one of the most secured payment method.

As for your due diligence check, couldn't assit you on it. sorry

SIUP numbers (not suip) stand for Surat Ijin Usaha Perdagangan (Trading License Numbers), issued by industry and trade dept of local govermnet (City, or province where 'company' operated). Since It was issued by local government, only way to check validity of SIUP numbers you have to contact local government (and it's hard to do that, especially when your are in other country and no such as online service check for license number in Indonesia)

For NPWP (registered tax number), can be assumed this company have valid NPWP if he has "valid" SIUP, since it was pre-term in submitting proposal for SIUP to industry and trade dept of his local government.

Usually, if the company 'steady enough and relatively safe in financial view' , he has bank account with the same name as company name state in SIUP. For example you dealing with PT ABC, so in bank account name also registered as PT ABC (not name of someone else)

Yes, in term of legal, this company is legitimate, but still, we have to sure, for his company financial profile and in what level of safety this company operated.

For this point (payment scheme) I'm not so sure, but let me give my opinion.
If you are trying to purchase goods for company located in Indonesia, besides of spec and others thing related to product, you have to be sure:

1. The Address of company (you can ask to others indonesian people you know, or post to this forum whether the address realy exist)
2. Valid telephone number (fixed line) and not cellular phone (GSM or CDMA).
3. You could contact +62 21 108 (phone company information-Jakarta), and ask them whether the address and the phone number are registered in same way (the address you ask must be same with telephone number you have).
4. For payment reason, I would prefer LC, since it is safest way, avoiding fraudulance.
5.If you sure who are dealing with, you could even use paypal, TT, Wired or Western Union for pay goods you buy (even it pay in advance). But once again (for last conditions) if I you have really 'knows' who you dealing with.

Tq.
Hopefully could give you little help.

Certificates can be easily faked n Indonesian people in this forum must know the differences between the original and the fake ones (Usually there would be some different type of fonts for some details in certificate), sometimes they also faked the address n phone numbers of the related department who should be in charge to issue the certificates, so when people checked by calling the numbers in certificate, only the scammer will pick up the phone.. Old trick but useful

My suggestion:
1. If u r looking for high tech products, branded, electronics, jet skis, baby strollers, etc, etc. Don't bother to check the SIUP or any other certificates.
2. If they had SIUP, then they must have NPWP (one of requirements for a company to get SIUP, they must obtain NPWP first)
3. When they were able to give u all documents, ask for their company's bank account. One thing, I found a case where SCAMMER used personal bank account with personal name who sounds a bit like a company name and told their victims it was their company's bank account. Should be sure about this too. Company's bank account must have PT, CV, UD, or PD follows their company name.
4. Never trust any suppliers with free email, or with website that has no valid contact number, valid address. You can check their postal code whether it is match to the mentioned address as first step. Ask someone from Indonesia in this forum to check out the contact numbers they gave.
I am sure somebody will help. Very nice and honest Indonesians in here, am I right, guys? [em40]
5. I think the best is u find local people to help u verify the company, do product inspection and quality before make any payment. It saves ur time and money. 100% SCAMMERS will never allow or reply again when u said u have ur agent will come and check the product for you before u made a payment. [em13]

Replying to [Jose de Sousa]  thats your problem why are you buying an Espresso Machine from Indonesia when most every well known expresso machine is actually made in Italy.

You can buy less expensive espresso machines from the likes of Regal, Krups ect...

Ms. Rieni Mayasari would be a good source for checking businesses in Indonesia.  I have talked with her at some length and she can help you to verify suppliers, but you should not expect that she do it for free as the information you would need to verify a business would take you considerable time to verify.  Her time like anyone elses has a cost associated with it.

There are other on the ground helpers in Indonesia as well their member names are Budy & Piet.    Like Ms. Rieni Mayasari or rienimayasari her name in the forums you can find them in many of the forums and contact them thru trade manger.

Replying to [dan_nz]: if you need to check SIUP, ask them to email you their scan of SIUP them cek it out from indonesian local gov where they listed their business. if you can not do it let me know.
suggestion :
1. Bever pay anything in the net by TT.
2. pay only by LC or by business account verified in PayPal. not persobak account.
3. Make factory audit if posible.
4. PayPal work in INDONESIA. their system of verification on business is very good way and trustable
