At the outset, I sincerely thank Alibaba admin for considering me to be this week's member spotlight.
Let me introduce myself to all of you. I am Vijay Shanker from India. I am in business for last 14 years. Before entering into business I was in service. I am based in New Delhi – the capital of India.
Initially, I started my business with manufacturing bags (nylon/polyester and jute bags) for domestic market, especially, institutions. The same is still continuing. A few years back, I entered into export business as a merchant exporter and started dealing in fabrics and brassware handcrafted gift items. In fabrics, I deal in Indian Linen fabrics (grey /natural), silk fabrics and sometimes high end cotton fabrics. Very recently, I have entered into the business of Organic Spices and other food items (canned and bottled) like organic fruits, vegetables etc. To keep on exploring new possibilities of adding new products having good market potentials is my passion. Besides above, presently, working out the possibilities of imports of Ordinary Portland cement 42.5 G (also popularly known as opc 42.5), into India, purely on a commission basis.
I find it extremely difficult to express myself "as a person". However, I would try to give you all some idea about myself. I can only say that I am a hardworking person with positive outlook. I have a very few but selected friends who are always with me and who always make their presence felt to me even during my hard times. I feel very much comfortable and relaxed in their company. The Alibaba forum has also helped me a lot in getting me introduced with a few very good and kind hearted friends – Indian as well as overseas. Thanks to Alibaba.com
About my hobby, I like listening as well as humming Indian (Hindi) songs, Gazals, watching good movies. I keep trying to understand the basics of philosophy and spirituality through books, articles or lectures as well as through the day-to-day experiences of life. Whenever find time, I enjoy being at Alibaba forums and find it quite exciting exchanging views with other highly learned and experienced members. I have learnt a lot from all those learned members of Alibaba.
