Be cautious - To all the Chinese people
Post 1 of 2
Recently, I met one strange thing. I am a paid member of Alibaba China website. Last Wednesday I received a phone call, they said that they are the Alibaba website meeting arrangement team in our city, and they would like to invite us to take part in an exhibition. I asked whether you have any invitation letter so that I can report it to our boss, they said no because the exhibition is free. When I went to the exhibition on Friday, I found it is not an exhibition ahll but like a training room and there were almost 30-40 persons. Most of them are the paid members of Alibaba China website. Firstly, they taught us some tips of search on Google, Yahoo and Baidu (Chinese searching tool), then they began to promote one service which can make our company being easily searched out by these search engine. The price is about RMB 3000 - 5000 Yuan. Most of us are interested in this which is very helpful for enterprise advertisement. I am not the boss and I cannot sign the so-called contract at site. However, some of the bosses paid the money for the services, however, seldom of them got the contract but only a receipt without any company name on it. Fortunately, one of the participants has heard of this kind of story before, and he jumped up to point out the cheating part. Then, all of us was awared. Why there is no invitation letter, why there is no contract, why there is no Alibaba logo on theadvertising documents but only the writing as meeting arrangement team. So, please be cautious when someone says that he is from Alibaba, remember to ask for some certificate or call Alibaba directly to check the activity! Only for your information and please be acutious.
