Indo-Japanese ties – stronger than ever

India’s Look East policy received a major fillip with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s recent visit to Japan. Japan today has a global presence that cannot be ignored by any means. Any partnership with this nation will therefore be welcomed by the Exim community.

However our Exim Inc. has since long been associated with Japan. But the fact that with the involvement of both the governments to make trade ties even stronger can be seen as another feather in the cap.

With Mr. Manmohan Singh asking Japanese cos to invest in India, I see a long term partnership coming the way.

However the authorities of both the nations should also understand that while inviting the businessmen things have to be streamlined too. Unless certain sops are not given I think bilateral trade will not surge ahead.

Certain tax benefits and doing away with unnecessary paperwork, quicker visa process etc. will certainly benefit. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
