Any suggestion about how to find a good supplier for garment in CN
Post 1 of 10
Hi guys

I'm running a trading company in New Zealand and I've came up with an idea to import garment and. I've been doing wines and honeys but only in exporting part. is there anyone has been impoting garment to some where else, can you give me some advice about the trade term, MOQ and things to watch out for garments.[em9]

Although I'm going to request for sample. However I've heard that samples will be all good quality, but when it get to actual order theres going to be LOT problem like default rate or excess of chemical analysis.

Does anyone know a good garment supplier? good price, acceptable quality, good creditbility and lower faulty rate.

Any advice would be great :)[em2]

Replying to [NZKAT]: If you are now to the garment trade you may start working from brokers like us [ http://jacco.hk ]. We don't have MOQ and any sample you purchase comes from normal production batch so the quality is consistent. You will start enjoying our wholesale discount from merely as little as 20 pieces on mixed styles and sizes.

When your clothing business grows bigger and have got yourself familiar with the garment import/export hassles (not much when just buying in our kind of volume), you may skip us and go direct with the manufacturers.

Typically they are demanding hundreds of pieces on the same style same color on each order. If you buy readily made items from them there is little risk on quality inconsistence. Just if you do ODM (you design and get them to produce) there will be lots of risk accured alone the supply process.

Hope it helps [em1]

Replying to [NZKAT]:Hi, My name is Anie Navarro, a Filipino Garment Manufacturer from the Philippines. My suggestions are:

1.You can first try searching from countries you heard has the best sources of good quality garments ( ex. through alibaba etc.)
2.I suggest you try these manufacturer in small orders only. Because if you will be hesitant to make or transact with them, you will never know how good or bad they are.

Replying to [NZKAT]:Find a good supplier is not an easy thing. You don't choose the biggest one but the suitable one.
Firstly, don't demand a very low price,no one do business with no profit. If do,it may find matter somewhere, just as you said:samples will be all good quality, but bulk going to be LOT problem like default rate or excess of chemical analysis.
Secondly, you can validate the factory by net or freind in China.
Thirdly, you may place a little order to the factory to check if they are believable?
But there'll still be some matters in bulk sometimes, about fabrics, accessory, delivery time.No one can guarantee no problems in every order. The most important:we can control it.

Hi,

well I import garment from China to Europe.

At the start I had the same problems like you have.

It isn't true that companies end you good samples and then the goods are different, at least from my experience.

You could try in this way:

purchase some samples, then if you are satisfied with the quality make a small order and ask to make a payment 50% in advance and 50% at inspection of goods when you get them.

Anyway these temrs could be negotiated with many companies.

For example you can also use an escrow account, they see the money are ready, then they send you the goods, you make the inspection and after that (if everything it's like you wanted) you unlock the money from escrow account.

This is the suggestion I can give you,

regards,

Kris.
